Your First Adventure: A New Player's Guide to LARP at Labyrinthe
So, you’re thinking about trying live-action roleplay? Whether you’re curious about LARPing for the first time or looking to bring your tabletop character to life, Labyrinthe at Chislehurst Caves is the perfect place to start.
Here’s everything you need to know about your first game with us — what to expect, what to bring, and how we’ll help you dive into a whole new world.
Getting Here
Our adventures take place deep underground in the Chislehurst Caves in Kent. They’re a short walk from Chislehurst Station, or you can drive and make use of the free parking in the Caves car park — we’re based right inside.
Arrival time is 9:30am, so aim to get here in time to settle in, meet the team, and start your journey.
Character Creation Made Simple
Don’t worry if you haven’t read our rulebooks cover to cover — we’ll talk you through your options in a friendly and easy-to-understand way.
-
Already have an idea about a character from the rules books? No worries, we'll help fill in your battleboard (character sheet)
-
Got a favourite D&D or tabletop character you’d love to play? We’ll help you adapt them into our system - bare in mind with 40 years of history, somethings don't translate exactly, but we'll do our best!
-
No clue where to begin? That’s totally fine too. We’ve got pre-made characters and experienced players to help guide you.
This game is designed with newer players in mind, and we always include a few experienced adventurers in the group to help make things smooth, safe, and fun.
Exploring the Underground World
We play across three square miles of atmospheric tunnels in Chislehurst Caves — it’s dark, dramatic, and completely immersive. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped into another world. The world of Primus is huge, but we don't want to overwhelm you with lore on your first time!
We’ll teach you how to fight with our safe foam weapons, walk you through the safety rules, and give you all the tools you need — whether you’re swinging a sword or casting spells.
If you’re playing a caster, we’ll provide a mini spellbook with your powers so you’re never left guessing.
