Dear fellow Hopefuls,

I trust you are all well and all still full of hope and happiness.

Sorry to intrude, but is just us this time and I have double checked this is the right place to send a message etc. Well, I think it is!

I think some of you will attest on our last outing, I am learning and getting better. Well, I thought I was and some people said I was even useful last time and and and ... anyhows, I was wondering if any of our fellows may have the ability to work some stuff out for me ... you know, with talking to Dragons or Aspects or Wotnots ...

Specifically, I had a spot of trouble with those chaps from Amlas; Sir High Harpell (see not Harps!) was kind and really supportive and I think offered to go and sort them all out, but they didn't rise to it and he praised me for being special and, well, I have been thinking a lot since.

All I was doing was trying to help them and then a misunderstanding happened and, well, I get the impression I am not welcome there anymore, what with my ex Dad trying to beat me up, promising to, failing to, and, well, he's probably in trouble now too and I feel bad for him and and and ...

Anyhow, what I want to know is, is it just my ex Dad being upset with me or are more of them angry at me ... such that if I meet any of em in my travels do I have to worry, or do I just have to hide from me ex Dad and his wrath! Or is it all of em?

Any help appreciated. I have many questions so perhaps if you can help I can ask the questions, you can ask the powers that be, and then share the answers back and I can learn what I need to learn maybe, perhaps repeating a few times ...?

It would be very poor form, rude in fact, to perform any divinations like that. I would advise you not to ask any such questions which would clearly be taken as insulting.

People from Amles are very honest. You should ask those you wish to hear from directly and with courtesy. They will either ignore you in exasperation or answer you.

I would point out that if on Amlesian soil the Law is very different. Any insult will be avenged and any of Samurai or higher status may do so with lethal force. Often a person will be given an opportunity to apologise, depending on the intent and depth of the insult, but I fear that for you the boat, nay flotilla, may already have sailed.

This is why I only asked here as I didn't want another faux pas ... so it's rude to ask a higher power: sorry, I didn't know that. When I travel regularly priests seem to do this, but I guess there's more to it. I will keep learning ...

But if I go there to ask but I'm not welcome and they try to chop chop me again ... so I wanted to find out before I went that way again (they have trouble brewing and will need more help me thinks!), hence the request. I suppose I could send letters, but I don't know peoples addresses and there will be lots of people that I have never met; like in Halga, when I walk about the marketplace I barely know anyone and Amalas is bigger than Halga (well, the maps say it is).

Oh oh, you know them; whenever I have been there you are there, could you ask for me (or get their addresses so I can send letters maybe ... but might be easier if you asked around for me, if that's okay maybe? ...)

Also, I like their poems: when I wrote my nice Talthar ones for you, you noted that I had perhaps gotten one wrong: I was mortified! I don't want to cause offence and I may be wrong I accept, but, well:

This doesn't work! But nonetheless its very good seeing how it references the prior one and works like two verses ... just saying. Please don't be angry, I am sure I have it wrong, but trying to show that I am paying attention!

Everyone makes mistakes and I've made quite a few in my time. I hadn't spotted it. Fortunately I'm not a Samurai.

I won't be asking on your behalf as it's a thing you need to do yourself. There are a number of people you could ask. I'll be seeing Lord Azriel Panama Sama and Lord Yuurei Sama on Starsday and will mention that you would seek to speak, or write to, them.
