Hi Guys
Looking for a bit of advice on a build please. I've had my rebirth back from final dawn per the below. Tryst Assassin, gains Ley Believer Tryst. Gains Devout Believer by table, starting on table 4 to 6th level (does not stop multi-class into classes in scout bracket, eg wayfinder or rogue). Vessel of Power. As human, gains dabbler and super dabbler for free without taking tendency slots. I also have a small pool of power for evil-based mana, spirits or earthpower innates Problem is that I have no real concept of where I could take this other than to m/c to the obvious like rogue and wayfinder so looking for some inventive advice. Any thoughts / concepts appreciated Cheers Ben |

That seems really strong to me for a 3k rebirth.
As to the route to explore it really depends on your playstyle you want for the character. One route is to go "problem solver" go rogue have a selection of useful/scout glyphs vanish, unseen servant/telekinesis, passwall, pass unknown and you get access to grey pretty much immediately you take it to 6th level when you are m/c'ing, same with wayfinder, access to Neutral Scrolls, Protection from Spirits, Spirit Invis, Spirit Shield, Talk to Spirit, Comm I & II go an awfully long way if you are prepared to power your spend with grulls into scrolls etc. The other route is just fully embrace Tryst and path from rogue to wayfinder or vice versa but you lose a lot of flexibility and the advantages that free Dabbler stuff gets you. I think the key to your Dabbler stuff is coming up with cool IC justifications and roleplay for the power you have and let that create hooks for you to build upon rather than being an evil bloke that has "stuff". -------------------- Gordon Court

So you can take it pretty far ….
I’m 20k into dabbler . I can do pretty much anything but not much of anything! My suggestion is to pick a role and focus Killing - using dabbler to get power ups / stuff needed to kill Comms - focus down information, look at Awakner and com 5 Generalist - it’s good but a massive point sink. Happy to share some apps with you Sam |

I agree with picking a role and using your power and dabbler stuff to aid that role.
While dabbler/super dabbler isn’t that strong on its own, it’s really strong when it’s not taken your tendency slots and they’re a great base for points apps. -------------------- Stacey

Also not really an app idea,
But if your tryst, playing church or cabal specials, look for something no one else brings. No point going hard into darkness when Abbad is around, he’ll eat them all! -------------------- Lord Knight problems... Contact Stacey. I'm free!

It's a great start - depends what you want to do - with all the brackets you could be some sort of artificer who can make everything, get a tryst demon patron associated with each multiclass you take - to get a status with each. More specifically what do you want to do - hand in the air stabbing people with bus numbers (deciding how you want to put your hand in the air - neuro invis, stalker, walk through walls), comms (wayfinder/awakener), skirmisher (kallah, hanot), do you want some quick healing (leywalker), particular colour of magic (rogue) - so many options - what other tendencies do you want?
As a few people have said - work out what you actually want to do first Giles. |

Ben,
I got good milage from Temple Assassin tendency - WE with Holy water and later that it worked for 1st 2 blows with each hand - More scrolls - Immunity to non-HB curses, Fortified SPirit and other "priest" immunities - Specialist "dismiss" blows (you would need to work out "Tryst special stuff) In terms of Dabbler, I'd advise against sinking huge amounts of points into innates. They'll leave you disappointed unless you find interesting ways to use them (like an innate gives you that powerbase / colour etc as damage for 1 min per power point or similar). As others have mentioned, you might like to change Dabbler - maybe as an evil dabbler you can steal powers from monsters (players) and wardings etc. deconstructing them and empowering yourself? You might be the person who finally finds value in Stealth Mage... David |
