Mercenary slayings on hire Options

Greeting those in charge of upholding the laws close to the Dark Forest,

I took a hire to rescue some missing peons close to the Dark Forest this Starsday just gone and amongst the hired group was a strange 'man' named Bernie. This man said he was a farmer who had died & was brought back to life, and now knew he was supposed to be a mercenary now but wasn't sure what he career was. Quite a ludicrous story but you get all sorts nowadays taking hires. Bernie didn't really do a lot most of the day bar tell stories of his supposed pig farm. He avoided combat unless pressed, and didn't other offer anything when dealing with wardings or other tasks either.

Towards the end of the hire, when we had confronted the Coven of Witches behind the missing peons, he cowardly killed two of the party. They will need to give their own story as I did not see this happen. I heard fighting and then saw Bernie running towards me. Given he had done a lot of running from things that day, it wasn't a surprising sight and he had ran passed several others of the group before he attacked and killed me. He showed a far greater level of skill when attacking me than he had the whole day so whatever he actually was knew how to use a sword.

I know its unlikely that this coward will use the same name, guise or tactic again but be warned this outlawed creature is out there.

The three he murdered were Frostfang as he has mentioned, Tiger Lilly - a Druid from Amlas; an official personage of some kind there I think and also her companion Willow, also a druid from Amlas. If a magistrate asks for a statement I will of course comply.

Be warned he could also deceive powers of the mind and powers of the spirit I think, I don't know anything about either but those that scried about him using these powers did not get the truth.

I would be on the watch for anyone with a suspicious legend that masks their profession and a wandering accent.

Lady Zhara of my faith, felt my death and after casting some Communication prayers found that my slayer is a cowardly demon from Amlas called Odiar.

It now lives in Deci, having likely fled Amlas. This creature absolutely hates without any exception anyone from Amlas and anyone who follows The Lady, which would explain why he also slew the two others of our party being travellers from Amlas.

He seemed to be able to lie to powers of the mind, as I am able to detect falsehoods spoken and may be shielded from spirits as Henge suggests if done in person, as spiritual communications seems to work from a distance.

I would suggest anyone coming across this demon, put it down as its clearly a danger to the mercenary community.
