Over recent weeks there have been several groups of mercenaries looking into strange happenings across Primus. The first of these missions ended with the group finding a painting on a demonic plane ruled over by Pytharus the Painter. This demonic painter paints pacts and visions into paintings. This creature is truly fearsome as he has the ability to re-paint existence at a whim, he can paint you out of existence or change your fortune or future through his art. The group visited Pytharus and after having made pacts with the demon they were able to gain knowledge of a possible future. The future depicted in the painting is of man sitting on the Throne of Glass and turning it to skulls and bone. Pytharus explained that this man will enslave all of Primus to his will and that as part of the pact that the souls of Primus will become the property of Pytharus upon their deaths.

The second and third missions were carried out to ascertain if there was a link between this painting and a group calling themselves the Knights of the Skull throne as it seems a coincidence that such things should manifest themselves within such a short space of time.

From the investigations that have happened so far it would appear that the Knights of the Skull Throne follow the following tenants.

Celebrate life and live it to the fullest, use your skills to maximise your own personal gain.

Understand that Life is all about choice and you are free to make your own choices but why would you not make decisions that benefit yourself over others?

Understand that death removes your choices, necromancer's may raise you, torture you or send your soul to hell etc all things you have no say or control over, the only true way to stop this is to choose become undead at a time and place of your choosing. Why not choose to be raised as a Vampire rather than be forced into the afterlife as a Zombie?

These are the three virtues the Knights of the Skull Throne appear to follow. It does not appear that they have actually broken any of the Empire's laws but it still seems that their teachings are abhorrent, boiled down it seems they are suggesting "selfishness is a good thing".

Oddly, it was reported that the preachers and knights of the "faith" were found to be a mix of white, grey and dark souls and minds. It would however appear that their actions and obedience to the law were all chaotic which seems to be the only commonality they shared.

The two villages that were under the “Knights” Sway were a village south of Gothiel called Great Hope and another village south of Alguz called the Great Freedom.

The party that visited Great Hope was the most successful of the two parties and brought back the most reliable information.

One piece of information of particular interest was that a man calling himself Lord Appraxus was slain by Belthraxian stating that he does not condone Lord Appraxus and his Knights of the Skull Throne who appear to be acting against the Empire. When Belthraxian was confronted by the group he simply stated that he did not wish any of the mercenaries present to be killed and so he would leave before blood was shed. Unfortunately Belthraxian slew Lord Appraxus before he could reveal who his master was.

Questions being asked are the Knights of the Skull Throne for the good of the Empire or not and why is Belthraxian assassinating their leaders?
