It had been quite a while since the Slurries had seen as much activity as they had recently, with a flurry of action, smoke billowing from various forges and increased traffic from Deci’s many mines into the city’s southern quarter.

This would have been reasonably normal apart from the fact that a constant stream of wagons were now constantly arriving and departing to whisk the ore off in the direction of Forgetown.

This increased activity was fourfold in Forgetown itself and even more so out in the wilds around the area of Forgeholm where there was a constant smoky red glow as if the sky was on fire.

What spurned this burst of activity no one knows but the level of which has not been seen in a decade and all manner of rumour began to spring forth amongst the Carters and Wagonners who were happy to speculate whilst they took advantage of all the extra work as did a great many day labourers.
