The deal was made with a 10th rank skeletal undead who was bound to act as one of the phylacteries of a lich, and as the only realistic way of taking that phylactery so that it is not available to its creator. The individual who became the undead wishes to protect his family, the descendants of the Amlesian Boar Clan.
As I recall, Gremin made a solemn oath as guild-master that members of the Brightest Light guild would not to harm the current leader of the Bloodied Tear unless he has broken a law of the Jade or Labyrinthian Empire. We felt the power of the oath at the time, and I assume we are all bound accordingly. Gremin agreed that to break this oath would mean death for the member doing so. I presume that to break the oath indirectly means either dishonour or self-satisfied smugness, depending on your outlook. We firstly very much hope that the individual we oppose has broken one of the laws of either realm already, thereby discharging us from the oath. If not, then we are of course free to hire others, or leave the guild, or change the guild’s name, or take one of many other steps to address this situation. Turning back to the skeletal undead, in order for him to agree to be bound in a vial I promised that I would seek to return him to his family in Amles, and allow him to assume his role as an ancestor spirit. I would like to keep to my word if possible. If the Brightest Light are willing I would like to find a way first for the evil undead spirit to have its taint removed from it, and then reunite it with its most direct descendant as promised. If you are uncomfortable with this please do say, and I will make other arrangements. In passing, can I also mention again that despite the horns I am a fire angel and not a demon. I understand the confusion that horns can cause, but it would be nice if we could move past that. Kazathael |

Unfortunately due to my incarceration in Halgar by the most fiendish of traps I was not aware of what has happened in my absence.
Could we ask Tirama to remove the undead taint, purify the spirit or similar? My only concern for returning the Skeletal Lord to his home is that we seem to be collecting the undead in a series of vials for some purpose as linked to phylacteries? In any event I don't think it can be returned home until all the vials are filled and we have used them for their purpose. If after they have been used for the greater good and there is still something left to return then I would be ok with it being returned to Amlas as an ancestor spirit and assuming it can be purified and turned to the light before returning it. That's just my thoughts. Thanks Rangar -------------------- Richard Eden (Possibly human maybe a vampire)

I have spent a fair portion of the afternoon ensconced with a pleasant seer in Gothiel. He is quite knowledgeable.
By way of summary (and none of this has been confirmed by scrying, nor can it be with the Blinkered Eye in place): 1. The liche sacrificed a portion of power to enable it to form phylacteries. 2. This power is limited, and split between the creatures that have agreed to act as phylacteries 3. If it dies then it can possess the body of a phylactery to be reformed 4. We have not broken the link between the liche and the creatures we have bound 5. We can gather the other phylacteries without breaking their links I believe we can by ritual sever all of the liche's links to his phylacteries at the same time, so that if we were to then slay him he would not be able to reform. I expect this to be no mean task, requiring something rather more extensive than kneeling, petty power and confidence. Once this has been done, the residue of the Skeletal Lord's bones can be taken back to his ancestors' lands and laid to rest in a respectful ceremony. This should allow him then to pass in peace to the Summer Lands where he can dwell with his kin in peace. We do need to confirm this - perhaps Alex can assist? If correct we need to chase down the other phylacteries. I am presuming, perhaps wrongly, that Gremin knows something about this liche and its phylacteries that I don't. Do you have a list, perhaps? Blessed be, Kazathael |

My understanding is that Primal Gravity frowns on overly powerful mercenaries sweeping in and Deus ex Machinaing things.
I of course stand ready to support in all other ways. Tirama -------------------- Will Power - will@labyrinthe.co.uk

I haven't travelled on primes much since my re incarnation. However with a bit of Vitae and a bit of work, I may be able to aid you in ridding evil taint.
