Welcome to the 2024 15K “Constellations”

This will officially run 25th to 28th July at Hamlet Scout Camp in Maidstone (see below for notes on Wednesday evening)

Some introductory comments first:

This event is Deci-focused. Characters not from this city or with goals unaligned to the city will find themselves with little in the way of plot hooks. I would also anticipate the rest of the party may “question” harshly your attendance… fair warning!

Rob and I are writing an event for the party and that will focus on Deci and its rural environs (given we can’t phys rep a city easily). We have read backgrounds and looked at the histories to write an immersive action-packed and compelling storyline.

Lead up and EL time in:
There is one lead up on the 8th June. No issues if you can’t make it but it is your chance to meet the other players and get to work together. The intention is to call time out on the Saturday evening and for time in to be from that point (with a new BB, no concerns in this regard) on the Wednesday evening.
Wednesday evening will be full time in from about 8PM. If you can’t make this, do not fret, none of the core adventure will be run at this time. It is an opportunity for the party the gel, investigate and get ready for the next 4 days. Just turn up when you can and enjoy the extra time to engage in the plot and event.
Thursday will be full time in from when you wake up – however, we are specifically stating here that we not starting “the action” before 9AM. We are setting this time to allow for early arrivals to get IC, any monsters to arrive and for breakfast.

Apps, contracts and items
Please ensure all apps, item cards and contracts have been shared with the refs prior to the event. Anything we haven’t seen, you can’t use – its that simple.

Alcohol
Its your holiday and you are there to have fun. However, others are also there to have fun and if you drink to excess, it may detract from the fun of those around you. We hope you will police yourselves, but we reserve the right to ask / insist anyone to remove themselves from the game if they have imbibed a little too much. Please just sleep it off and come back when you can – no grudges, no worries.

Ref calls and raised voices
There may be moment of high tension. There may be situations in which the stress boils over and voices get raised. I like to think I’ve matured (Rob is already mature) and so ask that we all take a breath and have a sensible discussion if anyone has a difference of opinion. After this, you may still feel the outcome isn’t right but rest assured we will have listened to your inputs and tried to find a fair outcome.

Event non standards
Eternal – has no duration
Fleeting – lasts 30s
Ritual – is magical, spirit and EP in nature. It starts from its obvious powerbase and the other 2 are added. Added spirits are always goodly. Added mana is always white and gold.
(so a “Ritual Spirit Bolt” is white / gold mana, neutral spirit and EP, while a Ritual Firebolt is red mana, flaming, goodly spirit and EP).
Sever / Loc to zero – (from a weapon blow, spells as published) work on crits, you may not apply any reductions unless you have a minimum 1 to sever (at which point % and fractional may be applied). They inflict your full loc not what you have left.
Holy Damage – white / gold magic, goodly spirit and physical
Pure Holy Damage – white / gold magic and goodly spirit. This is pure and does +1 grade if you are evil
Mortal Blow – is infinite damage. Justice applies. Powerbases will vary.
Slayers – as per Demon Slayer MC but works on any target. Starts physical then cycles through the powerbases until it finds one that hurts you. Will do “Miracle damage”, “ranged damage” “area effects” etc. but cannot do a named published spell / miracle etc.
Divine – is from a divine source (should it matter). It does every and any type of damage you can possibly think of, changing as needed to hurt you (so if immune to anything that contains X, it doesn’t do X for you. If your last hit is different to other hits, that blow will change to inflict that type as required). In addition, our flavour of divine will cut through all AC and DRs unless the relevant celerity / non-standard is owned. Finally, our flavour of Divine also adds to the damage grade any published ability, spell, miracle, evocation or neuronic etc that will help the blow hurt you more. So, if you are in a Greater Manaform, it will do specific colours and attempt to dispel your spell with a dispel 20 on the blow. It would slowly dispel your Ivory Warriors (or do a Zeniths on a blow), do a divine cure wound on your torrent or whatever it can. It won’t add a damaging effect to hurt you more unless that is what is required to make the damage grades work. If there is no set of damage type and published effects that can hurt you, please come and see the refs prior to the event and we can chat (or expect your “super hard to hurt” form not to work on the day)
Diabolic damage – any damage you sustain is uncurable while the monster is being played / still in the encounter (the monster running off, hiding or shifting off dungeon all stops this effect allowing curing to work)

Divine sounds like it could be really hard to work out what it actually does during time in. Can I assume it always casts things like the onyx +% from a given colour or all colours, and then does those colours, for example? Or always casts every different published stopping fx if you have determination? How far does it go? Or is it only things to try and cut through stuff?

Mostly concerned with not getting it wrong in the middle of a heated fight where working out all the addons could get pretty complex.

Hi Huw

When I've run it previously, I've never thought of using it to cast Weaken the Body. Rather it has taken down spells / powers that grant extra life, extra AC or extra life (or better reductions etc.). For clarity, the focus on the published power tagged on is there to help the damage grade land more successfully. It was poor wording on my part to state it would try to increase them as this could be taken to mean increase them beyond the original damage grade called.
I'm specifically keeping it a bit fluid so won't publish a list of what it can do or how, beyond "anything published". What I will say is you may think of things it could do that the BBing ref will not. I'd let them do this without any help and rest assured we will lean on making it fair and easy.
Its really here for people that are immune to Divine six because it was delivered by a sword and they have a rank 14 glyph up of immunity to swords
