Fortune Favours the Brave

This event will be a max 1500. It’s open, but not to any sort of extreme character that is likely to ruin other people’s fun. Definitely nothing with a ‘must kill players’ restriction, no AP’s, and no characters that are likely to steal all our lovely props and hide them in bags. Just be mindful there’s 16 of you and we aim for everyone to have a great time and it only takes one person with a bad choice to ruin it for others.

As to what you should play? Play something that wants to do the dungeon, that wants to experience the plot and story, that wants to engage with the people in it. Play something that wants to make long lasting bonds, that wants to create memories and friendships that remain after time out is called.

We have an absolutely awesome crew of 11 lined up already, an equally epic mother in the form of Fromum, the fresh imagination of Stevie and 20 years of Extended Length experience from myself.

The system has very much to choose from, but I have found in recent years a few things that can spoil the event for others. As such, the following rules will be in place.

- No permanent supernatural hits.
- If you have a non-standard rebirth, please run it by us to check. There’s a few sneaky ones out there with no modifiers on so don’t assume your rebirth is fine to play.
- If you monster loads, you absolutely deserve your monster items. Keep it cool. I don’t want to see people turning up with 20 x plate selves, 20 x heals or similar. But please be mindful of excessive tombola/monster items and let us know what you’re planning on using.
- No special ‘hand me down’ items or ISP from legendary characters.
- I really don’t like permanent immune to bruising at this level. I think it annoys monsters and they begin to use their stats in ways to get round it. We won’t say no, but be prepared to be scrutinised for it. I’d love to set a reasonable amount of low damage grades meaning everyone can get involved. There’ll be a lead up, and if on the event people have it and are rubbish with it, we’ll take it away.
- Everyone seems to love a vessel these days. My only bugbear with this is that people spend a lot of time clockwatching. Perhaps buy a cool little cheap pocket watch from Amazon or something. Also, you’re more likely to get med buffs than vessel ones.

1500 spends are always a little tight and we’d like to encourage each of you to fit in some cool abilities. So you will get a bonus 150 points on top of your 1500 spend, which you may only spend on distinctive flavour abilities. Treat yourself to that cool random info effect, or roleplay ability, or interesting non standard token spell or innate special to your character.

All in all, we want everyone to have a great time and experience that'll you'll always remember.

Hopefully most of you can make them, but with only 3 and a half months to go I imagine it’ll be hard to get everyone one of you on, so will aim for as many as possible!

Probably more an issue with the number of days in a month he can be free to play with a very young one to look after and thus he would have to drop out of the Talthar in order to ply this instead.

I think I’m going to ask Duncan to put these dates up for booking. My availability is limited as I now work most Saturdays, which limits me to Sundays which are already booking up.

It’s a shame both Edd and Stacey can’t make it for either. I can see the shadow legion on the 6th only has 3 players and no ref? Could you move that to play at least 1 lead up? I think it would really help if you could. I’m sorry I can’t be more flexible.
