Stormvale Human – Playable Race
It is now possible to play a native of Stormvale. They have a full spirit and are otherwise as a human. They may select either Air or Aquatic Elf innates and start with these innate at first level (as an elf). They may not buy double or triple innates but may buy the set of innates which they did not start with for 80 points post 8th on table 5. Due to the Island’s insular nature they may not join Political Guilds.

Stormvale
The Island of Stormvale is some 30 miles out from the Scarlene Coast. The Island is relatively small and circular measuring only about 20 miles across. At the centre of the Island is a huge mountain known as Drake Peak. Historically its residents have been very insular. Their primary trade has been acting as a port and trade hub for all those travelling between the East, Port Mierre and Scarlene.

The Island’s history is swamped in legend. It is said that the Blue and the Green Dragon’s fought high above these waters during the Chaos Wars. As their magics mingled together an egg was formed which plummeted from the sky. As the egg struck the ocean both air and water took solid form and a great island rose up around the egg to protect it. It is rumoured that within the centre of the Island still protects the Stormdrake Egg to this very day.

The residents of stormvale are largely human. Their skin is covered in blue and green markings. They are blessed of the Stormdrake and wield powers bestowed on them both of blue and green magics. In IM 1013 a great disaster befell the Vale. A great storm erupted and surrounded the Island. A number of mercenaries lead by Jhor Blackfin and Petulia Hylos managed to erect a stable gateway through the Nacht connecting the mainland to Stormvale such that mercenaries could travel to the Vale to uncover the cause of these storms.

Later that year it was discovered that at the previous Dawn where the Onyx and Jade Dragons took their rise there was turbulence amongst all of the dragons. This started to weaken the Storkdrake that protected the Vale and as such the land became unstable. Each of the natives lost their connection with either water or air and they formed two distinct factions. Brother and Sister took up arms against one another. They believed that only one side of the Drake’s magics could live on and that the side which fell away would perish.

In late IM 1013 a number of mercenaries travelled to the Vale to put an end to the problems with the Stormdrake and bring stability to the region. One their arrival they discovered that a particular Sect (at that time proscribed by the inquisition) had took up residence in the Vale. A great dark castle loomed over the region and the dead had started to rise.

These mercenaries brought peace to the two warring factions and united them against the Cult who had managed to steal the Stormdrake Egg. It was returned to its rightful position and rum our has it that the Cult were the ones who had weakened the Drake originally rather than the warring dragons. As such magics returned to the native people and peace was restored once more. The Isle has been stabalised over the last 2 Dawns by the Inqusition. It is now once again a bustling hub of trade and industry. The stable portal between Stormvale and the Scarlene Coast is still used now for trade purposes. At the Scarlene end it opens nearby to the village of Bream’s Folly.
