Many good things are being said about a small family, with ambitions to become a clan - The Scorpion Clan.

Many of these good things are being said of Numai Shingen. His skill with sword and wu-jen has the gossips of the court all aflutter, his sudden, newfound fame being likened to the meteoric rise of the current Keiyaku, who's accepted use of what was previously considered the Oni's arts was becoming almost fashionable.

The eyes of the court were upon this newcomer, great things being expected of him.
