I’d hoped Pete would post on the basis of the below… shared for two reasons…

1) I am expecting the gathering of the faithful to come equipped with a rite of summoning/binding to call forth some ghost spirits (for information and perhaps to consider laying uneasy souls to rest) - in the brief/for the brief

2) Comms are open, for those that can & want to!

And assuming that things go ahead Sunday (we do need at least an A-ref and a monster), then you are welcome to Time In at your convenience in the Tavern (the Rising Sun Inn). This is a bar area within a stoutly fenced compound maintained with a permanent guard, encompassing the stables (briefing room) staff and family quarters (armoury) a courtyard, and the bar area. When you see me I shall be playing a tall, middle aged man of sturdy build… who is almost certainly the proprietor.

The area around Port Miere has a long and often shrouded history. And (as you know) the area has recently seen an increase of Mittlenacht incursions.

Scanning local libraries and consulting with elders and those who keep the old stories alive you start to find a place of interest recur in your delving.

The Shadowed Tor is a mist-topped hill some distance inland. And while mist and cloud is not unusual around a peak, this one stands out as never having had - at least in living memory - a clear view of its summit, despite being proximate to a relatively often used nearby road. The more you ask those that have been that way, the more you are convinced there is a supernatural hand at play hiding the peak.

Investigations further reveal that the place once had a different name: Beacon Hill (in the common language used today). This is a translation of an older tribal term - an ancient one at that, certainly Second Age, perhaps earlier.

But your investigations come up short. Even using supernatural means: it seems there is a limit to how much of the veil can be penetrated, and secrets found.

The trail of crumbs does not entirely run out. Two further facts are found

1. That the hill had historic significance for the ancient peoples of this land. There was a focus around the summer solstice. Details have been lost in time. Though perhaps there is a stone circle or holy place - or it’s remnants - still within the murk.

2. The nearby coaching inn: The Rising Sun is a place of interest. It seems the name is ancient. And the place is rumoured to be amongst the most haunted buildings on the isle. Perhaps the ghosts can tell you more?

The overriding sense arising is that you might want to gather the faithful, meet at the Rising Sun, and come prepared to summon the ghosts so present to establish what they know. As to how to achieve that… surely a priest and his flock will be able to generate a suitable ritual to summon, bind, interrogate or maybe even lay to rest such spirits?
