Upperworld Options

Greetings all

Yesterday I went to Upperworld, which is near or in the Land of Legend (I'm not completely certain of the cosmology). The reason being that I had heard of the abduction of some of our lay folk by a force of Silverfolk. I don't have any details of these people, or know from where they were taken, but I believe them all to be artisans and smiths of one sort or another. They have been either killed, or enslaved by means of silver collars in order to utilise their skills to equip an invasion force of ritually enhanced Silverfolk. The reason our lay folk specifically were taken appears to have been the erroneous belief that one of the mercenaries involved in opposing these Silverfolk was a Michelean priest (he is not).

We struck a blow at the Silverfolk in the form of closing their portal site, hampering the logistics of their planned invasion and potentially causing their ritually empowered troops to turn on one another. During this effort we did not find any of the kidnapped folk, so I can only think that they are with the main body of this army.

I write firstly to inform the Church of this, but also in the hope that we might be able to muster a force to attempt a rescue.

Lord Saladin,

I received your missive and travelled to Upperworld in a band led by Da’Karte.

We successfully closed a supply portal to a massing Githyanki army, strengthened by a child-like divinity named Bran, in the capture of a demon called Khorbis. The Silverfolk were stronger than any I have faced before, materially so; empowered somehow by the captive boy we surmised. I failed to glean any information as to the whereabouts of your missing priests, but we did free a small band of the Brehmens’ people, who if what I heard is accurate, were abducted similarly to your description as to your priests; also artisans useful to a war effort.

Suffice it to say I am honored by your personal note to me, but Gaxx, a militant priest of your order, as I understand it, also travelled with us; he is staunch of virtue as well as body: I assume he will provide a fuller report upon his return to your cathedral.

My years of service are discharged but if I can ever assist your order again please but ask.

Addendum (whilst I served my commanding officer he would like me to append my formal reports with pertinent particulars as I perceived them; old habits die hard, but for your information):

• Master Whiloubury, a senior ICOB agent, was freed, informed as to events and returned to Halga
• Da’Karte, quiet obviously fueled by hatred, justified from what I have seen as well as heard, demonstrates periods of unstable behavior
• The Brehmans and another strange armored women, as reports indicated, either are or regularly ‘embody’ the dead, feeding upon the living as well as corpses; all at times exhibiting erratic behaviors
• Harry, a dark Elf perhaps, having earlier informed us about the missing ICOB agent murdered an innocent, hence being slain by stout Gaxx; subsequently transpiring that Harry was an Outlaw, albeit I am unaware of the specifics of his crimes
• Contrary to some of my travelling companions stated opinions, the dark spirit Elf Morsin, albeit vocal and of, at times, controversial views, was responsive to the chain of command and resourceful: further I can confirm he is materially more potent should his bound spirits of causing be left intact
• Galdor continues to seam diminished, although always dependable and is a credit to his order
• Baron Magius aka Mojo; I admit to failing to remember his correct title, was irreverent most of the day, albeit forever present
• A human, of the Lo tribe I was informed, also attended us; he was able to move with the grace of a cat, which was deceptive noting his frame
• A quiet human, oft not seen, as before, accompanied us. He still held no weapon and spoke little; as if watching and recording; to what ends I cannot fathom
• The Death Wizard, Archeim I believe, was slain by the Githyanki; his returned appeared, but, albeit I remained mindful, only targeted the enemy. I found him to be a disquieting individual but whilst he stood he stood ta
