Bildteve was a fascinating place and the Professor had only recently been involved in “a little work” around the Ghulston area. The fact that Bildteve had the second highest acknowledgement of the faith of Talthar made him smile.
The carriage that had collected him had been black with matched black horses with black harness and the coachman had been black liveried. On each door had been a shield of slightly darker black. The fine glass in the windows protected the passengers from idle view by being...well...black. Baroness Thalia, elegantly clad in black velvet with a necklace of obsidian and jet, had made her mansion hall available and a surprisingly large number of the local nobility, as well as the usual academics, were present. Notes were quickly shuffled to take into account that some of the rapidly growing audience were not blinking... or breathing. Delving into his recent expedition the lecture began with the nature of Bildteve and its link to the animate dead that dwelt there. The expansion of Ghulston and the harmony between the quick and the dead was lauded. In a brief diversion into the subject of Wardings, with several examples of comedic mistakes, the lecturer exhorted those that followed Mortai to be “A tad more careful” when dealing with the “obviously simple”. The final few minutes were devoted entirely to the nature of Nobility and the link between them and their lands citing Lady Thalia as a prime example. At the end, when wine was served, many of the nobles present bowed to acknowledge their host and seek her advice. -------------------- edd@labyrinthe.co.uk
