I cannot agree to the judgment, the sword in the hands of Rileck is too dangerous, he is part of our lands and magic. I cannot allow that taint to reach the heavens.

I offered the Sword to the Emperors honour but he cannot accept it. I do not want this sword and I never have. I am saddened to see those around me influenced by the sword and it’s taint and rather than support me, they bicker and snipe.

I pass my roles to Zu Wang Seung-Jean who will take on clan Daiymo and Warlord of the Shadowlands.

As there is none suitable to carry the sword I now leave Amlas to walk into the mists until I have found a way to destroy it, it is possible I will never return.

Do not be fooled by the Oni. Now one drop of water has got through the cracks, it is only a matter of time until you will be swept up in the flood that will follow.

It is a pity you have chosen to disobey the will of the emperor and declare yourself a traitor to amles by doing so.

You have refused to follow the way of our lands and challenged the Emperors Honour or committed sepuku to show your displeasure.

However as you have refused to do this, so it seems you declare yourself an enemy of Amles and consider yourself dishonored in the eyes of what were once your people.

As an enemy of the people of Amles I say it falls not to you to appoint a new warlord of the Shadowlands. This would fall to the Emperor, or the Emperors Honour. I know that there are others who may wish to take on this responsibility and such a role should be appointed properly, not by the arbitrary will of an enemy of Amles.

I do however congratulate Lord Zu Wang Seung-Jean on his appointment as Daimyo of the Snake clan. I hope that this new appointment may see the Snake begin to reforge alliances with the other clans and tribes of Amles, and I wish you well on this.

oh, my old friend.... how has it come to this?? You have said it right - no one can bear this sword, including you.

You have been the second wisest Daimyo I have ever known - and I have a long memory, spanning back through time to the beginning. I wonder what our Daimyo, Lord Zu, would have counselled?? I still miss him keenly all these years on.

I truly regret that I have not been more forceful over the last year in removing this blade from your keeping. Had I done so, maybe this madness would have not gone this far... that you can not see what its influence has brought you too is something that will be with me and sadden me till the end of time. You have my apologies for not helping you sooner or more effectively...

I beg of you my friend - for your own sake, please trust me... the sword is too dangerous to be held, and the safest option is to hide it for now until a method of destroying it can be fathomed... and the best way of hiding it available is for me to do the hiding. That which our Lord Ri'Lee Sama created can not be uncreated or changed unless he wishes it or is uncreated himself. I can not be darkened or tainted by this sword, and its darkness will not invade the heavens or the Land through me, such is simply impossible. My brother would also not be corruptible, neither would our sister (once she has awoken from her slumber fully). I know of no others who could withstand its insipid darkness... and can think of few others who would have withstood it for as long as you have.

I suspect that my words will fall upon barren ground - and its influence over you is such that the deep wisdom you possess will not factor in your thoughts with sufficient strength for you to do what is right (both for yourself and The Empire). If it would help, speak with Seung-Jean for his counsel in this....

I have listened to all that has been said by the council. I have waited to hear an agreed upon path for keeping the lands safe from this sword. All the while carrying the burden of the sword, the perceived taint to my person and the taunts and attacks, the expulsion from the council. Slowly being pushed further and further down this path through both my reluctance to jump too hastily to rid myself of the sword, and others’ fears that I desired to keep it for some personal gain.

I cannot see dishonour in my actions, maybe I have been blinded, perhaps. As likely is that fear has clouded others judgement of me.

If the council truly desire me to hand the sword over to Ri’leck, and the Emperor has decided in his wisdom it to be the only path, then it should be clear that this must be the path I take.
My duty, I have always known, is to protect the lands. In handing over the sword I fear I shall have failed in this sacred duty, and I will bring dishonour upon myself.

Ri’leck’s plan has risk and could taint and corrupt the lands. How is it not safer for you all to find out how to destroy the sword while I am lost and when the solution has been found I will return to you to destroy it?

Having taken counsel from Seung-Jean and had much enjoyment from the following conversation, while I see merit in his thinking; I doubt others would.

The snake has been left without friends, without a place in the council I helped found, without a chance to defend the actions others describe as self interest. All the while serving the empire. I would continue to serve and defend you all. I cannot agree that I am an enemy of these lands. I cannot see where I have dishonour.

I weep for your Clan and the dishonour it must face in your disgraceful actions. I implore of the Emperor and his Honour, in current climate that the role of Warlord of the Shadowlands be attended by someone of unimpeachable honour and vetted by none other than the Emperor himself, not given by a lowly traitor, to people in a clan that no longer holds any honour!

It troubles me to see you cast yourself apart from all others in this way, although in truth I am not surprised by your choices and actions any longer.
I fear for how the sword may overcome you in your intended solitude and can hold on only to the hope that it's tainted grasp upon you does not become too much.
