Astley’s Mill was a village half a days travel south east of Sellaville, best known for its fine and meaty cattle. The lush fields, fed by the overflow of the nearby flood planes, kept the beasts well fed and by the length of the bulls horns and the mangy fur growing across their bulk, it seemed likely they had some Rothe blood in them.
Barnet the Tinker dropped by the village every few weeks to bring them needles, string, and other odd bits, as well as to perform basic repairs upon the townsfolk’s tools. However now Barnet stood, cap in hand, looking out over the area the village had always been. All there was in its place was an extension of the lush grass, and a few Astley Cattle (as they had become known locally). It was as though the entire village, and all who lived there, had just vanished... -------------------- Will Power - will@labyrinthe.co.uk
