At the appointed time, as the veil between day and night is at its thinnest, let us assemble at the consecrated grounds where the last rays of the fading sun meet the emerging darkness. I write to proffer your Church my aid.

I elaborate: we have not met, I am not a priest and I reside far from your lands, however, I believe we share common aims, which seem to be time dependant and hence this missive now, being able to reach you sooner than I can in person.

For some months I have felt a yearning, recently rising to a compulsion, to travel West; whilst my dreams have been strange and haunting, full of a milky greyness: disconcerting to say the least. As the unsettling dreams grew worse I sought to understand what was happening to me and thus entered a state of deep meditation, for many days, far within the Underdark, to be closer to the Darkness, magnifying my contemplations. From my self directed deliberations and hence the knowledge gifted me I sought out local scholars, mathematicians and soothsayers to try to piece together the insights the whisperings of the shades had provided.

To come to the point, my world view and ethos is as far as I can ascertain more than just similar to the tenets of your faith but identical. More pertinently, a time is coming to strengthen and renew our beloved Darkness and although I do not yet know what part I am to play, I am called and hence am on my way to lend my essence to you and our cause. I will arrive early Starsday, if the winds remain favourable, and put myself in your service for our mutual goals.
