A group of exceptionally potent mercenaries faced off against a cult of the Shadow of the First Evil that had sought power from things never meant to be awoken and become quite mad. Powers of Ruinous Destruction, of pure chaos and malign hate manifested. While the cult managed to completely destroy the village of Major's Hope just south of Halgar before the heroes could arrive, their foul plans were undone and the cult destroyed.
Mallerstang is quoted as saying "that assassin just stabbed me up the [----]" before retreating from a Goatman (we are reliably informed from the Dark woods in the place between worlds) into a wall. Serin was seen pale and shaken, muttering something about reflections, and stary paths that had no floors or walls, while even the mighty Bart looked somewhat sweaty come the end of the day (but still pretty, despite the Old Ones attempting to reshape his face). While vitae was used to deal with many problems, Rus threw pacts like a fire mage throws fireblasts and it seems lights and wits won this group the day. Kassadin managed to cast many a Touch of Death and Rangar's nice new tabard was soon dirty (from him spending so much time on his back). Reinhart survived a fight with an Old One with a constant flow of dispelling magic preventing the creatures powers from transforming him into a grey wet puddle. It is said some of the group limped away at the end of the day carrying not only their pride but also some of the Old Ones power. This writer hopes it is never unleashed... -------------------- Will Power - will@labyrinthe.co.uk
