Downstairs Staff, Changes for Armourer/Desk Staff Options

We're looking at making some changes to the desk staff and armoury positions.

At the moment, the club spends £5,200 a year on our armourers (based assuming one each weekend day), and £1,250 on desk staff. Whilst this isn't aimed at anyone particularly more the role itself, we feel the club isn't getting £6,450 worth of benefit from these roles.
In the same vein, we feel the desk role, whilst hugely popular, pays highly but isn't consistent when players aren't available at lunch time (potentially their dungeon is up early or late, no fault of their own).

As such, we are combining the two roles into a 'downstairs staff' position. Our first draft at this position came with a heavy focus on the armourer role, but with feedback from existing armourers, we reviewed the priority of the armourer - it is not to stop things going missing in the armoury (thankfully this hasn't been an issue for many years now), it is more the tidiness of said armoury and making sure the caves is swept. With this in mind, we shifted the priority of the role to desking and tidying.

The downstairs staff member will be responsible for makes - getting to the caves for 9, they are to be ready for crew and players to do their morning makes.
A-refs will now be responsible for collecting the kit, props and weapons for their dungeon.
Once all dungeons are down, the downstairs staff can tidy the armoury and sink areas (specifically not the toilets, but makeup etc from the sinks)
Lunch to be had either before lunch break or after - during the actual dungeon's lunch break, they should be at the desk for makes.
During the second section can make sure armoury is tidy (NB this is not an excuse for crew to leave the armoury in a mess), as well as the desk areas and downstairs cabinets (including sweeping the tavern and armoury with a broom.
After the second section, the downstairs staff should complete a sweep (with their eyes, not a broom!) of the whole caves. Not only to search for kit, but part of our responsibility to ensure all LARP participants have left the caves safely.
Based on the above, the downstairs staff should be the last person to vacate the caves.

The pay for downstairs staff will be 50 credits and a crew incentive.

As part of the above, A-refs will have a bigger responsibility in gathering kit, ensuring their areas are swept and returning kit back to the armoury (including but not limited to: hanging bases and tabards up, putting props away and returning weapons to the weapon racks). To represent this, we are raising the a-ref daily reward to 30 credits. It will be the downstairs staff's responsibility to do the final sweep, and should they consistently find a particular a-ref isn't sweeping, they will have their a-ref privileges revoked.

This change will go live from 10th June (2 weeks time, after the Amlas extended length). We will remove people who have booked to desk (on the assumption you're playing/crewing) and if you've booked to armour, we will bring you over to 'Downstairs Staff'. In future (until the new website!) please book as 'Desk Staff' in order to be booked for the Downstairs staff role.
