Got a pointsapp back today, thought I'd share for ideas/flavour. Think of it as like a Humakti Geas (if you ever played RuneQuest) where you foreswear certain things as a religious devotion.
-------------- The First Oath of the Devout Rosarian Cannot cast a prepped Total Heal on non-Rosarians. Always takes casting damage when casting miracles that heal damage on non-Rosarians with their own spirits. Goodly spiritual curing from non-Rosarians becomes more difficult; Total Heals may not be cast prepped on them as Rosarian spirits will swirl around the caster, making calm preparation impossible; a Total Heal cast by a non-Rosarian will only heal 72/72. While conscious, SAC is applied against a non-Rosarian's goodly healing, on a 1pt of SAC to 1pt TBLP of goodly curing (i.e., SAC 6 stops Cure Wound, SAC12 stops Cure Serious Wounds, If SAC 12 then Heal becomes 24-tblp and 24-loc, etc) including a non-prepped Total Heal; a failed prepped Total Heal still does 72/72. May not willingly accept any Mark Ally -type abilities. Does not benefit from any non-Rosarian’s radiated benefits. Anyone that radiates benefits is aware of the Rosarian's presence as a ‘cold spot’ within their radius where their radiated power flows around rather than over the Rosarian, like a rock in a stream. Cannot Power-Meld spirits from a non-Rosarian source. -------------- I get +1 spirits/level and +1 level of casting Warding Sphere plus some Spiritual Resilience stuff from it (My tables bonus applies to miracles cast on other Rosarians, my personal bonus is now 2/3; I've a bunch of warding sphere miracles it effects.) ...but Lee has said he's happy to pass similiar stuff for other Rosarians on a case-by-case basis; tailor the reward to your own needs. I think it has good flavour and denominational identity, suits the Temple of the Rose ethos. |

Out of interest, what's the logic for "no Mark Ally"? I guess that'd be the self-reliance thing - how well-established is that as part of the faith, compared to the healing thing?
(Hi, I'm new here, but I'd been considering starting a Forces/Comms priest at some point and the Almanac writeup looks perfect for what I was thinking of doing - I do love a grumpy disciplinarian type. ![]() Liz |

Because of the lack of figurehead, I suppose it's more of a lifestyle / ideology than a religion-as-such; the ethos is about personal improvement and collaboration so noone is going to judge for lack of zealousness.
