It was a cold Stars day morning yet the excitement for the coming battle filled the temple with life, so distracting from the unholy chill in the air. As dawn broke there was a magnificent flash of light from the heavens.

St Micheal had sent a host, the furious dawn breakers, known to be specialists against the undead that had been assaulting the temple this week past. They stood in magnificent white and shining gold armour, their crests of a cross over a skull boldly showing.

The strength from heaven pushed back against the clouds and all above it became clear the extent of the battle that raged in the skies. Above the clouds another host was pushing back a great evil, fighting gigantic beasts and shadows in the sky.

The host which had appeared on the ground formed ranks at the front of the temple, banners held high and holy weapons burning with sunlight in their hands. A deafening shout went up from the host, instantly a rift caused the shield to allow passage and the charge was started. As the host hit the lines of the undead, rays of sunlight refracted from the blazing armour of the host, spreading holy fire across the undead that stood before them. It was as if the whole town square instantly took ablaze, dropped corpses all around burning with holy vengeance.

We finally managed to push out from square and towards the bridge, to discover that the enemy had prepared an ambush against us. As we moved down the street the mists rolled in gently, lapping around our feet slowly rising until we were consumed by it. Rolling mists filled the whole street and then as if from nowhere they came, giant beasts in the mists. Many of my friends were cut down, either by the giant claws of the beasts or their deadly breath that would strip a man to bones.

We pushed through, fighting back and as we broke free from the mists embrace we were able to approach the bridge. The host once again led us charging the bridge and smashing their way across, so holding back the forces from the town.

For most of the day and night that followed we worked to clear the town of the remaining undead, while the host held the bridge from the relentless waves that assaulted them. As dawn broken on the third day the terrible groans and howls of the attacking forces suddenly stopped dead, an eerie silence fell across the village, the only sounds to be heard were the scrabbling panicked sounds of the towns’ rat population scurrying away, foretelling of the coming horror.

Then we heard a death curdling scream from the castle, as though something had been dragged from the very depths of hell. We didn’t see it above us at first, not until it was too late. There went up a shattering searing groan went up from the bridge as it tore apart the guarding host. We looked on in horror, we tried to comprehend the sight as this beast tore the angels apart. From the back ranks of the host there came volley after volley of fire and spiritual power smashing into the beast but this only served to feed its anger. The retreat was sounded, the host took to the rear holding the beast as long as they could, so that we might escape. They were quickly consumed by the river of dead that followed the beast.

Narrowly we reached the temple, the battle in the sky seemed lost and the darkness and power from the sky seemed to once again build and recontinue its assault on the shield.

The week in Bornheim has been long and hard; we have managed to get those who were caught in the fighting out safely, but at a great cost. The Archangel of Holy Vengeance was overwhelmed and captured. There are reports from our scouts that he has been taken to the halls of the fallen, and is being used there to power a ritual which will destroy all trace of the faith in Bornheim.
At learning this I threw the runes to divine our fate, on the tenth hour of the Starsday ahead of us the shield will be overwhelmed and a massive ritual strike will follow, striking down all that are in the temple. The elite troops of Bornheim will storm in and kill all that are on the temple floor.
We will hold as long as we can but we need immediate aid and support in Bornheim. Without support it is certain that the Archangel will be lost, without his recovery the power of the baron will be amplified at the dawn.

No, we arn't accepting that. The loss of the Archangel of Vengeance will not go unchallenged

Ill be with you before 10.

I expect any of significant power from the faith to be there

I shall be there to assist my allies in the Church of Michael against this otherworldly threat. I may be slightly delayed by Primal Gravity.
