Incense burned and prayers were chanted in the grand hall of the great Cathedral to St Michael in Halgar. A sombre occasion as the procession entered the spacious crypt bellow. A space now prepared and ready for those fallen of the Church to be laid to rest.
As the faithful descended they were accompanied by a shimmer of power, indicator of the strength of past fallen watching over the ceremony. The air was thick with incense, sweet and strong.
The prayers stretched long into the night.
