The Senate would like to make the following statement regarding the events which occured over the Final
Dawn. We have been in discussion with the Empress and would like to make public the following facts and the Senates opinion of the various events and the current State of the Empire.

1) After the tireless work of many in the South, including Thor and the Restless the Spiter lost a great amount of the Sunless. This weakened him considerably.
We salute those involved whose tireless efforts achieved such success.

2) Sellaville was Ritually attacked with the aim of pulling the city into the Sunless, this effort was thwarted by the Empires ritual defences.

3) Alguzs' link with the Realm of Glass has been fractured during the ascension of the City to the Edge of Talthari Heaven. This weakened the Empress and the Realm of Glass nullifying the work done in the Sunless.

If Alguz had not left the Realm of Glass, then due to the weakening of the spiter, all the cities in the Empire would have been protected from him and his disciples rituals for at least a year.
Those efforts in the sunless were not in vain however, as if not for their heroic actions the events in Alguz would have given the Spiter the advantage, as it stands, the blood of those that died has ensured that the stalemate has been maintained.

The church of Talthar has broken the balance of faith within primus, at this time it is only the power of the Empress and the Nagrech that keeps things in check. Otherwise we would be returning to a time of the "Namer wars", where Primus would only allow a certain amount of power for those not of its nature.
As it stands it is likely the work of Talthar will have a significant impact on the other goodly faiths in Primus, either restricting their power or limiting their faith. However, without the Empress they would already be weakened as Talthar stole the faith they had built in their Pantheons and Ideals.

The Empress is saddened that the selfish greed of a few Mercenaries to see one heaven before their eyes has hurt so many. She also sees how the actions of these mercenaries have played straight into the Spiters hands. However, She has also shown the Senate her wisdom and therefore we will not be adding to this travesty. It is for this reason that no military action will be taken by the Imperial Bastion against the city of Alguz. For this would undoubtedly only benefit the spiter and other enemies of the Empire.

As Alguz is now removed from the realm of glass, it is no longer protected by Imperial rites and rituals. The benevolent power of the Empress and other primal spirits no longer touches it - this will have a severe impact upon the craft guilds as well as other walks of life in the city. Of course, anybody wishing to leave Alguz would be welcomed to any other city in which they chose to seek refuge, and it is assumed that the Alguz council would never seek to prevent people leaving if they wished to.

It is the Empresses belief that the city of Alguz will need a great deal of help to see through these troubled times, and her wish that we, her Senate and Empire, provide as much help as we are able.
As a result it has been decided that the City of Alguz will be permitted to remain as part of the Empire, though only in a mundane/political capacity as it no longer benefits from the Empresses grace.

In addition, Galdor will not be removed from his position of Governor, moreover for the moment his punishment will be that he must remain and see the city through these troubled times. Any further actions against Galdor and indeed, anyone else deemed to be responsible for this travesty are commuted for the time being, as together we focus on repairing the damage caused.

4) Myron has an army of infernal forces currently marching on Alguz. Due to the actions of Alguz the Conjunction within Myron has been prolonged allowing ever larger hordes of Demons to invade Primus. This situation would be more desperate still if the being known as the Murder had not acted according his nature and slain the Great beast, before it could ascend.

To this end, the Empress has issued guidance that whilst she does not condone the breaking of the covenants laws, in this instance, the end justify's the means and therefore the senate is to issue a full pardon to the being responsible for hiring the Murder.
