Hi All

1st time come across Terror this weekend and was wondering if there are any other instant kills that are upgrades/non-standard of a standard ability that instant kills.

to my VERY limited knowledge the "instant" kill list is;

Touch of Death
Disease (ok takes some time)
Avenging spirit
Terror
That black mana spell (forget the name) where immunity to shape shifting applies
level drained to zero

thanks in advance

Good topic - but I personally hate instant kill effects - especially non standard ones where the immunity is normally non fatal. I.e. Terror.

There's just no knowing. I've seen stuff like - die unless immune to spiritual freedom before, the sort of immunity you just wouldn't buy.

That's when universal retros come in and it all gets a bit shakey.

I'm just sticking to pre 5250 stuff to avoid this sort of thing and having a great time.

You decided who you're playing on the 10k 2 day mate?

I think you're talking about effects that kill you no matter how much life you have?

Anath's annihilation is the black spell you're thinking about.

The only other one I can think of is:
Internal combustion if you've got 7th level resistances

It's relatively common at higher points to come across about 20th level spells that kill you if you don't have half effect that element.

Forgettance comes up quite often at higher lvls, immune to forget or die.

But yea I've seen be immune to insanity or die, justice of kings or die, act of faith or die, immune to flesh and blood or die, 1/2 fct cold/acid etc or die...and quite a few similar variants. And that's just in the last week... tongue.gif

So basically almost anything CAN be a death effect, and becomes more likely the higher you go I guess.

I personally think Terror on KOTL dungeons is basically tradition at this point!

I believe it first turned up set by Lee on Lots guild specials.
It was set on a kotl guid special and danger senses were triggered and tbh fear generally gets you killed as you run from the party into the dark so imo 80 pts is a win.
It was also a 20ft radius dying effect from monsters with a cloak of fear that killed you if you were under the effect of a fear, so just really unlucky to be caught in the small side room of the run around.
Just to get it straight. 🙂

If you have vitea you don't die - you just fall over for 5 mins, ok which is as good as dead in the wrong situation!!
