Full Version: Tuesday club - October onward

I thought I'd help start the ball rolling by seeing who is interested in extending the Tuesday club sessions into October and beyond.

The next one is fully booked and with more players wanting to book on (incl. me!) so it seems like the model works well and there's plenty of interest in terms of players. Monster and a-ref slots tend to book up well in advance too. Hopefully this also works for Duncan and the pit on the business side too (though all that takeaway pizza must cost a fair whack - is there anything we want to do different there?)

So what we seem to need most are some refs; anyone keen or happy to throw their hat into the ring?

I'd prefer to do a few more rounds of a-reffing myself - a full party of competent players played havoc with my dungeon last month (and my stress levels!) and so I'd like to see more on how others pack things in to a perfect evening single length, but I'll jump in if it means some things get run!

I am happy to ref some of these and keen for them to continue as they have been a lot of fun.

We do fish and chips when Duncan not about to do the pizza run. Domino's do there 2 for Tuesday deal so it doesn't work out too expensive, but sure any other ideas would be considered
Ferro
Yes, still interested - be it play, crew or continue my practice for reffing.
Flanners
Yep. Me to. I can ref one too
gormaden
Very much so, I enjoy the format and recommend it to anyone who has not tried it to give it a go.
Kail
I'm in for more.
dhurrell
OK - this sounds encouraging. So, I'm happy to start making a note of volunteers like Rich did last time to get some planning in.

Any offers for reffing on a particular date please let me know here or by PM and I can keep a tally, at least for the first few of them; saves a bit of admin for Duncan which I know is always welcome:

Tues 11 Oct -
Tues 25 Oct -
Tues 8 Nov - Rich Fromant
Tues 22 Nov - Giles
Tues 6 Dec -
Tues 20 Dec -

I have just booked to ref the end of September one, happy to ref the 8th November as well, don't mind what level
TimTreadwell
Sadly the times are very difficult for me as I work in the afternoon and have to be back on site by 10-30.

Tuesday 25th of October is in my half Term though. smile.gif

Tim.
Christine
25th October is also good for me - yay half term!

giles
Happy to ref 22nd Nov and if no takers probably one of the December ones too

Giles.
Dave
Are these all low? Wouldn't mind the 20th December being a max 10k. 3 hours of choas
dhurrell
Cheers Rich.
Thanks Giles - I'll put you down for one for now and we can see if others are able to step in first.

Dave - normally the upper limit has been max 1500, but if someone's up for reffing it and crew/players can be found then ...?

Wouldn't work mate. Single length format (amongst other things) works because of the low points - not too much battleboarding, plenty of power to chuck around but enough to challenge you, lots of monsters - higher risk, nice and quick. 10k wouldn't be chaos, would be tiresome - by then you've overcome any power limits and too short for attrition. Keep the max 1500, works well.

Giles.
RichFromant
Yeah, I agree with Giles and we have said it from the start, anything above about 1500 doesn't really work for a single length. Better off sticking to lower level stuff
Kail
Those dates work for me. We'll ref another as well.

So, looking to get these booked in this week, anyone else able to ref them? I have picked some levels but am happy to change them if people have a strong preference but having a ref and level decided in advance really does help them fill up!

Tues 11 Oct - Max 1500 - Rich Eden
Tues 25 Oct - Max 1k - Ed and Stacey TBC
Tues 8 Nov - Max 1K - Rich Fromant
Tues 22 Nov - Max 750 - Giles
Tues 6 Dec - Max 1k - Flanners
Tues 20 Dec - Max 1500 - Rich Eden

Let me know if you are up for reffing one
RichFromant
Hurrah, thanks to some refs volunteering we are now all sorted for refs, I will email Duncan to get these booked up.

RichFromant
Bumping this in reply to Ed's question on the IC thread, still waiting for them to go on the diary but the next Tuesday dungeon is a max 1500, mainly for those in a last minute points grab for the 3-day!

I'm now over the threshold as my Rasha so probably going to start playing my high wizard on these.

You know they can't fight right...

They are also meant to be fluent in mana runes... but rules are meant to be broken!
RichFromant
As per Duncan's announcement, these are all now up to book on to, dates levels and refs as follows:

Tues 11 Oct - Max 1500 - Rich Eden
Tues 25 Oct - Max 1k - Ed and Stacey TBC
Tues 8 Nov - Max 1K - Rich Fromant
Tues 22 Nov - Max 750 - Giles
Tues 6 Dec - Max 1k - REF NEEDED
Tues 20 Dec - Max 1500 - Rich Eden

These have been a lot of fun this year and I encourage people to come give them a try. To recap, caves open about 5.30pm, time in about 6.30pm. Time out about 9/9.15pm then we have pizza or fish and chips in the tavern over debrief, all included in the price of £27. Tend to finish up by about 10ish
RichFromant
Flanners has had to book off of reffing on Tuesday 6th December, is anyone free to step in and replace him?

I'm reffing the Tuesday club next week and currently have an awesome 5 man crew but only 7 players, anyone keen to play should book on.
Ironcore
Only character close to threshold is my goblin but 1150pts, too high? Is there a 10% margin on points?

Andy
RichFromant
Yeah, allowed to be up to 15% over with refs approval on midweek stuff, and am happy for you to play your goblin on it.
Ironcore
Cheers Rich, have booked on.
