Mercenaries Needed, Wednesday Club Brief Options

A bit of an odd request for mercenary aid, as it comes delivered from a falcon that we had to arrange a druid to speak to. It had a message from Grenthan, the Chief Druid of the Soaring Falcon Tribe, asking for help, he and some of the tribe are trapped in their caverns and the rest of the tribe have started acting oddly.

That is really all we know about the threat, and scrying isn’t revealing anything else, although most of the caverns are covered by a blinkered eye placed by the tribe a fair few years back. What we do know about the tribe, and why we are concerned, is that they previously worked for traders from both Deci and Keys, acting as guides and escorts through the dangerous and wild lands between the two cities. They were good at their job, going via a number of small villages on route and had a number of good deals with the merchants and the empire to help safe passage. Obviously with the destruction of keys the majority of their work dried up.

We would like to hire some mercenaries this Wednesday evening to go and rescue Grenthan and find out what is going on with his tribe. Pay will be 1500 Grulls, if interested meet me at the derelict remains of Greased Goose Tavern, a couple of miles north of where Keys use to be.

I am pleased to report that Brok and his allies were successful in uncovering what had befallen Grenthan and his tribe. It turns out most of them have become infected with bugs that are burrowed in to their brain and controlling them, a very unfortunate affair but one at least means the majority of the tribe is still alive and savable.

We have been working with the empire’s apothecary’s who have seen similar before, when the Crael attacked some years back. They still have a few barrels of the crael poison around and have found a way to altar it to kill the bugs living inside members of the Soaring Falcon Tribe. We just need a larger quantity of one more ingredient – fire berries. We have found a location of these, it is unsurprisingly a hot and fiery location.

We would like to hire a group of mercenaries to collect these berries then deliver the poison made to the shaman and witch doctor, administering it as blade venom to any of the tribe you meet on route to them.

We understand there is a weakness within the tribes caverns that leads to another world where they became infected. We would like you, having drank some of the poison in advance, to travel to that world and investigate it as best you can.

We are able to pay 4000 Grulls for a days work. Please meet once again derelict remains of Greased Goose Tavern, a couple of miles north of where Keys use to be.
