Help/recommendations for Furs please Options

Dear all. I am looking to start my first tribal, in the form of an ogre, but have no idea how to go about sorting costume / furs for him. Can any of you lovely people help me with this please? Where is a cheap place to source furs or fur material please? I don’t want to go the almost naked / barely covered route. Any ideas on designs please? Does it have to be all fur or is some material allowed?

If you can, just go with raggy layers, use a fur/fake fur mantle, trim on boots, trim on bracers. It's invariably a combat character, so bracers and greaves- dressed and trimmed is a good start.

Fur. It can be an issue considering the brutality of the trade, and even recycling old fur doesn't sit well with lots of people. I havent had a look at the synthetics available, but keep an eye out on Ebay.

That makes sense. Didn’t really want to go ‘full fur’ and look like an oversized teddy bear.
Wasn’t even thinking of using real stuff, so now to source some cheap stuff that doesn’t look too ridiculous

I normally get a fur throw or some fake fur fabric and just cut a hole in it for your head and wear it like a poncho.

cheap and easy and it looks the part.

Thanks guys. The sooner I get fabric the sooner I can play. How do people get round the whole ‘big club or small tree’ weapon types? Are we looking at trying to get a bespoke ‘stone or wooden club’?

The Velvet Glove raggies do look good. Not sure about me wearing rabbit skin would go down well with some cavies

I eat meat and wear leather. Fur is a big issue for some and I’d rather not get moaned at or have to keep explaining the source etc.
As an ecologist at heart I have a huge issue with the release of American mink from fur farms years ago. They have devastated the National population of water voles and other water-life. As an invasive species, the only good mink is ...

I now have a large dark brown fake fur throw to make costume from. Do I go for an oversized wide tabard type effort that can be belted closed or a large full length overcoat type thing?

Tabard just make sure to leave no straight lines and cut it all jagged for a more feral look rather than the Iv just cutt a hole in a throw look

When you starting said oger and what background you going for ?

Always found it abit sad and insulting the way ogers are discribed and set out to be role
Played , don’t get to hung up on having to be a “fat slob” should
