At around six hours prior to the final dawn, a huge torrent of power arcs through the sky smashing down into the sea off the coast of Scarlene, Keys and Miere. The slam of power hits an area around the size of Halgar and continues for some minutes. Water is displaced at a horrendous rate and less than an hour later huge tsunamis smash into the coastal towns and cities. Several fishing communities are entirely obliterated and buildings in the water-side quarters of the three eastern ports are smashed and strewn apart. The ritually constructed buildings of the guilds and noble estates largely survive, but houses and other settlements are torn apart. Hundreds of people die, though thankfully a momentary warning the hour before allow at least a reasonable number of people to get out alive.

The other quarters of the cities remain intact, though somewhat damp. Keys suffers the most, with many undergrounds chambers and catacombs entirely flooded. Miere and Scarlene fair somewhat better, though there will be a great deal of rebuilding work to be done.

Of further worry, a number of old dead sailors have been seen walking up out of the sea along the coast. These don't seem to be doing anything other than wandering aimlessly and have largely been laid to rest once more. Few seemed to have any kind of consciousness or memories of their former lives.

The seas around the area of impact still seem unsettled with crackling lightning and rainbow slashes of power billowing up from the depths. No doubt further investigations will be required.

As to the source of this attack, information is sketchy. Inquisitional sources claim that it was a hidden ritual assault targeted at the cities of the Empire and the Empress herself, skilfully diverted by a group of daring and heroic mercenaries. These claims appear to be supported by a proclamation this morning from the Empress herself, manifest for the dawn, offering her heartfelt thanks to a small group of mercenaries for their daring and courage over the dawn. She states that this group saved the Empire and its people from the brink of destruction and a further attempt on her own life.

As days past no doubt further information will come to light...

In other news, a held of around 300 soldiers in archaic blue uniforms were seen marching into Halgar this morning accompanied by the towering presence of Banquo of the 101st. By all accounts these soldiers were from an old legion disbanded over 500 years ago, but having been discovered and rescued are willing to fight for the Empire once more.

In between Alguz and Deci, in mist covered mountains lightning crackles over the Dawn, followed by silvery ripples of power. As the Dawn passed and dust settled, standing where nothing had previously been believed to have stood before was a towering fortress, four towers around a huge rainbow covered central spire. Where this fortress had been before, or how it appeared here, or even whether it had always been here, but hidden. Nobody seems to yet know, though no doubt in time all will become clear. For now, members of the Inquisition and Imperial Seers have formed a cordon around the area.
