A report from Morgan Sunbourne

Report of today’s actions at Errian’s Rest

Sir,

I am writing to update you on the progress at Errian’s Rest today. There were four events of significance.

First, in the City of Scarlene we came across a small group sobbing. One of their number had caught a sickness and died within a few hours, in the course of which the others had become infected. The reason for the infection was a spirit of undeath – “Contagion”. We dismissed it, and healed the group. However we are certain others will face trouble and should be aware of the cause. It is likely someone had summoned the spirit and this should be investigated.

Second, at Errian’s Rest we stood and fought a small horde of undead. After a fair onslaught the attacks culminated in a human being by the name of Thorn, claiming to be a member of the Council of Thorn (no relation) or some such. We fought him and he was slain.

We were told that the villagers, who had fled to nearby caves, were being trapped and attacked by demons. We went to help them and fought many demons, dealing with numerous wardings before defeating the portal that was their focus of power with the power of prayer. This allowed us to free the trapped villagers and return them to Scarlene, Errian’s Rest being determined too dangerous for the moment.

En route, we came across an odd additional portal through which lizard-men arrived. They referred to someone by the name of Max who was teaching them about undead. Brian of the Tryst chose to teach them more about undead while others of us spoke of light, truth and the power that comes from righteous though and benign faith, aiding each other for the betterment of all.

Two of our number fell, Morgan Sunbourne and a Nineen, and both were returned in no small measure by the goodwill of Golden, an Onyx Elf.

My thanks to all of those who accompanied us.

Morgan
