December 2018 – Bigger, longer and more addictive
Hello, so Christmas is just around the corner (after Halloween and Bonfire night) but in true cavie fashion we are planning a fun month of events for December.

Tombola – Bigger and better than ever.
It will start on the 1st of December. Envelopes will be a £1 each.
You will be able to buy 3 a day if you are playing, and 5 a day if you are crewing. Though some days have bonuses available.
There might be enough to continue through the Final Dawn. On the 29th and 30th December extras will be available based on how many are left. So grab them early before they go, and if they are left get down on the 29th and 30th for bumper buys!

The Raffle
Tickets will go on sale on the 1st of December from the Desk. Prizes will be listed on the Forums, and by the desk as they are finalised.
The draw will happen on the 22nd December.
As ever the raffle only works with the generous donations from club members. Donations will be accepted from now, and can take the form of anything cool or useful you can think of, from a weapon, to piece of costume, bottle of your favourite tipple or even vouchers for ill ref or monster for you ect.

Lucky Dip
It will be released on the 15th December. Each person will be able to buy one envelope, with any leftover running into the 16th. But what will they be you ask? Well three options: Random All abilities that might be useful/handy/quirky, Some interesting class/race combos with twists, and radiated/working together for guilds type of stuff. A bit different from previous ones, but a change is as good as a rest.

And what everyone (except for the Tombolo addicts) whats to now about, dungeons and events.

1st December – Guild Day.
Ian Nope – Having a Larp - Trading at the caves this day
Rather than two sections, the day will be split into three sections, and everything being run as a single length.
Young players will be happening as normal.
Adult sections will be £15 each (including glow stick tax). Points will be a max of 30 a section.

The tavern will be time in, but with rules around no fighting/attacking other players. Essentially a place to be in character and roleplay a bit with some stuff happening.

Each single length is for two different guilds.
All dungeons count as a “Guild special” but grant extensions as a guild themed extension assuming they have sufficient players.
If people book to play two, and monster one section they will gain an extra 40 points on a character they played during the day.

Additionally the dungeons will allow a new social guild to start the details of which are:

Name: The Order of Mercenaries.
Requirements: While open to all mercenaries those with legal problems (Ostracised/Outlawed/Wolfshead) must have guild masters permission to join/remain a member.
Ethos: While some gather to further a great cause, others to serve the Empire, and the most famous to protect the land, The Order of Mercenaries is formed to aid its members when conducting their daily business, adventuring. Members are expected to help each other out while on adventure together, this doesn’t have to mean giving equipment away but in general they should work together as a unified mercenary company.

Restrictions: If a member kills another member the guild master may cast the individual from the guild, resulting in them being unable to join/benefit from a social guild for a year.

The guild leader is only permitted to remain in the role for two years and must then call a vote of members to decide a new head.

As an OOC restriction the player of the character that is head of the Order cannot be head of any other guild, and the guild restrictions/ethos cannot be changed.

The current event plan is:
9.30 section (time in for 10, time out for 12.00/12.15).
12.45 section (time in for 1.15, time out for 3.15/3.30)
16.00 section (time in for 4.30, time out for 6.30/6.45)

And the guilds will be:
~ Section One ~
Dungeon A: KotL/Hell Company
Dungeon B: Iron and Empire/Enclave
Dungeon C: Children of the Dusk/The Order of Mercenaries

~ Section Two ~
Dungeon A: Talthar/Of the North
Dungeon B: Dead Heroes/Frontline
Dungeon C: Claws of the Circle/The Order of Mercenaries

~ Section Three ~
Dungeon A: Shadow Legion/St Michael
Dungeon B:Tryst/Yeoman
Dungeon C: Highborn Assembly/The Order of Mercenaries

There will also be interesting things in the tavern (flash sale auctions and the like).

Due to the nature of the event please book via the booking line.
I am looking for victims, I mean referees, so if you are interested let me know.
Pre-release of club supporter 2019 cards ready at the caves this day. More details to follow on the forums.

2nd – Single length danger
Continuing the theme of the weekend. Dungeons will be booked as Single lengths, but these will be the more modern 2 sections over the day.
The events will be a straight 8th, max 250 and 750 each session (Anyone playing one of the straight 8ths will get an 8th level character for free at the end of the session). If people want to book another event, or more single lengths there is a space.
Characters played on any of the single lengths will get a bonus reward of a Dealer CC.
Monsters for the single lengths will gain the Dealer for a Character of their choice, and also be able to put monster points they earn onto a character of their choice.

3rd – 7th – Work Week.
In an effort to push along the Hobbits Arm Pit with a view of doing our best to have it ready and open for the final dawn we are taking on the 5th Work week of the year, the 3rd in the hobbits arm pit. There will be a fair bit of carrying on the first couple of days (although people will be pleased to know there are no more beams). Followed by a big clear up on the Friday. If you want to come and help, Monday, Tuesday, or Friday would be my preference. Obviously help accepted all week, especially if you’re a plasterer. Just drop an e-mail over if you plan to help. Usual Monster points and other bits in return.

8th – Amles Day
Mike Light of Light Armouries trading at the caves this day
The Day will be Amles themed, with three open parties.
The plan is to have an early start (10am for time in) to be finishing around 5pm.
As an incentive individuals involved all day will be able to buy double their Tombola allowance.
We are also currently hoping to have the World of Primus Book 3: The Jade Empire, out for sale.
In the evening will be the annual cavie drinks at the Bickley.

9th December – Not hung over day
Part of the caves is hired out by another system.
There is an open 500 aimed at newer players, but it is open to everyone.
There is also a max 6k Of the North/shadow legeion Guild special for those who don’t suffer hang overs, or never made it home.

15th December – Monsters day
As mentioned above lucky dip envelopes will go on sale.
Additionally anyone crewing today will be able to sign the monster points they earn onto characters of their choice.
Credits earnt on the day can be exchanged for monster points at a rate of 5 to 1, and they can also be signed onto a character of the persons choice.

Players will be able to sign on double their normal monster point allowance (no this doesn’t stack) to the character they are playing.

16th December – Tribal Madness
Simon Morgan of Eldritch trading at the caves this day
Sean Cook and Jamie Muggleton will be running a themed day entitled “About Time”. It is tribal themed, but you don’t have to be tribal to play.
Sections are max 3k, max 10k, and a no max. It is already filling up on players but monsters will be needed to make it work.
N.B. this is a full £60 triple length themeday

22nd December – I’m going shopping
Blue wizard supporter cards on sale this day, yep their back for everyone who missed them (and those who want another go) from Mays Big Day
As everyone knows the last chance to go shopping before Christmas and why should the caves be different.
So ISP for dungeons on this day will be doubled, and for monsters it will count as a Theme day for making Monster point items.

23rd December – Early Christmas presents
Everyone that players or crews all day at the caves will get a surprise present. What? It’s a surprise! But I can say it will be an IC thing that you can give to a character of your choice.

Final Dawn
In case you missed it is on the 27th and 28th December. It will be a play one day and monster one day basis.
The first day is a Max 7500 being reffed by Ryan Kelly, “Henry Hope” and team.
Day two is a max 3k being reffed by Lee Dale and Kev Jones.

The cost of the day is £65, with a minimum of £15 cash. Credits are earnt as normal for monstering a triple length.
No monster points are gained for monstering, but the total points reward for playing is out of 250 points.

The items have a special twist on them this year, so hopefully they will make for a fun twist.
Plots and briefs will be out closer to the time.
There’s no hard rules about what you can play, but it is Christmas so deliberately playing your party killing AP is a bit off.

29th December – The end of the year as we know it
The final Saturday of 2018. We will have a couple of open dungeons up for playing, so if people want to express a preference to the level then go for it.
It is likely extra tombola’s will be available, with crew getting first dibs.
For people playing and crewing today points will be doubled, enjoy.

30th December – The Final Sunday
Again open for dungeons, so if you want something book away.
The last day of the tombola so there may be dozens of envelopes available.
Each person down and playing/crewing today can buy a special limited edition monster point item for a character of their choice it costs 500 monster points:

Crystal of Midnight Sun
The crystal is filled with the mystical energies caught during an eclipse over Halgar.
Sun is Night 1/day ~ At the point of suffering an effect other than “restore life”/similar can choose for the users alignment to count as being any other alignment (EG if suffers a soul lance a goodly person could choose to be evil). Must be declared within 2 seconds of the effect OOC.
The Eclipse 1/day ~ Acts as a Deny power but can be magical or spiritual, the spiritual Deny power will function vs miracles. To use this spiritually requires utilise spirit item (any alignment with suffice). Verbal: The Eclipse denies thee power.
Held in the Eclipse ~ 1st time a day it is needed the character gains ‘Mantic live to minus 6. This does not stack with other kick in live to minus, and lasts a maximum of 5 minutes.
The item has an 18 month blow up date and can’t be taken as uses.

And finally anyone crewing today will get their choice of an 8th level Onyx or Jade Elf
(standard elven classes).
