In keeping with the recently resurrected 3k competition…

For a laugh 4 of you picked a fun theme and booked onto a Myths…the dungeon is already written but at the last minute all of the other players have dropped out! You’re stuck with the theme, and there’s no time for new points apps now – so you need to stay true to your original plan but be as tough and flexible as possible, as the dungeon won’t be rewritten!

So, you'll need 4 characters each at 1500pts, standard spend only. You’re all rebirths etc, so one of them can have a multiclass of their choice for free, another can have a multirace at half cost, and the other two can be non-standard race/class combos. Those that can use them can have a magic or spirit weapon and/or a handful of teaching scrolls/scriptures. All characters can join guilds.

Competition closes on Monday evening at midnight - get to work!

I feel like you are all gythianki, of various classes, you have sucked up the points tax and bought +1 strength each, one of you is a scout which has gone well equipped healing, one is a warrior who has gone seer, then you have a wizard ebony/black and a dominion priest.

you amuse yourself by smashing every encounter in rotation using 21 power each, then you Neuromastery 100ft and two people start medding, in your spend is x3 (you've gone devout priest/thamaturge) while the other two hold you for an hour. Everybody has 6 foci so this costs you 72 life as the group, you drink some 6 points (from your well equipped stash).

You phys rep this by just going and sitting in the monster house for an hour drinking beer.

As psycic powers med back even faster your comming warrior just greater precogs every 15 minutes in the morning while you wait for the monsters to get out of bed, he writes a list of encounters that you will meet during the day.

Mainly you find the hardest monster parts and then control them spiritually so in the end you actually have a full party to help you out.

If it ever gets too tough you all just NSJ to nipple mountain which you phys rep by going to the monster house and getting smashed.

You've also all bought see through darkness, so you can be real tedious and sit in one of need be.

The wizard has pass unknown so deals with everything that can be effected by that.

if you dont fly over it.

Your warrior is a base of deullist and has 6pts off swords, you also slowly steal all the maces as the week goes on.

The scout has also gone well equipped poison and general, occasionally when the monsters feel like they have got you in a hole you feed the thamaturge the enhanced endurance so he can overcast loads. The monsters never know that and think everybody is cheating.

He amuses himself by putting IV death into all the main roleplay parts drinks.

You're known as team tedious.

Black Op’s –

Craigy organised the oft talked about never envisioned team of professional mercenaries as the event but everyone booked off last minute when they heard Wiffenator (Ref) gave Huw (Monster) the stats 2 months early then Cotter and Covington booked to Crew last minute… The 4 remaining members will be playing a 4 man well rounded unit with various tedious outlets to deal with any over statting.

They can all see in the Dark and they can all be immune to spirit sight every now and then - they will break the darkness tedium if the Monsters look like going home only to pick it up again in 3 encounters time! They have tricks galore and prot. evil / elemental warding.

All members will be Monster Pointing their patented Black Op’s Tabards that Tim T made them for monstering the week before… 9/3 Life, 1 DAC, 1 PAC…

THE SCOUT -
Standard Noclo Rogue (As Human). Gains Archmage for Free in Rebirth

Deals with traps and Evaluates everything with Tomb Robber; the party are expecting the Referee’s to be generous with use of Enhanced evaluate given the numbers. He is a shade specialist liking Dark Binding, and Embody Elemental (he’s probably going to rob all his mates for summon shade 6 scrolls) – Carries daggers and shield depending on where he has to be in the group. Tinker for immune to thru on the Warrior! He has ebon tendrils for Elementals and undead night carnage!

Relies on See Thru to be in the Darkness hit Squad – couldn’t fit in Senseless vision which has really pissed him off! He also has Mana Form / Dancing Axe Tedium and Walk on Darkness other for Emergency Evac.

He bought all his snatch Vitae innates as they basically kill a tough Monster… He decided on Northern Man to get his see thru darkness and ½ FX Magic. He does a section uses 58 spirits then gets 56 back in two hours… Knows Total Heal but hopes to use it sparingly. He really wants a pure weapon as his myths item…

I remember that Myths thread, there was some really good stuff. I'm unconvinced on your winter spend though - could they really handle everything the Myths might throw at them over the course of a week? Would you be able to move the plot along without the ability to resolve any spiritual stuff that comes along?

Craigy's party loses points for not showing his work and for concentrating on surviving rather than completing the Myths (we all know you can't just fly over the section). His party really struggles on the inevitable undead night as the Wights just shift up to where he's flying! The attrition also gets through his lack of locational healing.

Ryan's party do much better, but get screwed in the Gythanki encounter as they don't have any Neuronic defences or any Neuronic damage - damn those last hits! Bonus points for ref/monster backstory, lose points for the theme being 'be really tough'. They cope well in undead night, but it gets hairy a couple of times. The monsters get very annoyed with the constant darkness/warding combos. There are a number of deaths when Rob 'what warding?' Benson turns up on day 3. The Duidoin pure priest gets blown up for cheating as triple med is on table 10, and most players are covered in cuts and bruises from the JCs fighting with their eyes closed - "if you want us to pull our blows, don't make it so we have to close our eyes".

Sounds like the best week ever - and for the record my spirit formed priest and mana formed wizard ruined those githyanki while the other two hid in the toilets...

The ‘No Food’ Myths Party
So the plan was everyone on the Myths was going to play Rasha – so you’d all get stupid amounts of innates for eating some crisps in the morning. Then the party started arguing over what sounded cooler – ‘incoming’ or ‘heads up,’ an argument which took in the fricative shift (swearing whilst teleporting) and the periphrastic ‘do’ before most of the party booked off to attend Pestival (a music festival entirely devoted to bands named after insects, where everyone has an exclusion order) or the opening of QueueWorld (a theme park where the queues are the attraction). There are just 4 of you left, so with a bit of work you have become:

Unfortunately the Mother also hasn’t turned up (went with some of the other players to Queue World), and the players realise quite early on that the refs haven’t written all of the event – instead one of them goes out early to buy food which they then make the party forage for as part of the dungeon (as soon as they found out none of the party were Rangers).

You got the e-mail about being food-based but didn’t know about all being Rasha. Like everyone else you are not happy about the food situation, and like every other tribal refer to yourself in the 3rd person leading to the echo across the Welsh hills of ‘Warrior needs more food badly.’

You play your High Wizard restriction that combat is to be avoided to the full (all that time you are standing around talking you’re getting 3 mana back every 15 minutes) – the monsters know this and try to start fights after 10 minutes – enabling you to rain down firey mantic death. You cast mantic Chains of Fire a lot, or there’s always your Disruption innates, you’ve even got 6 Neuro pens just in case. You’ve also got Fireblast innates from being a Rasha & 2 Mystic Honey potions from Blunt Club to get back those levels from Chains of Fire

Much of the time the party spend stealing each others store of biscuits – when there are some encounters to fight they unleash as both the power users have 3x Med Rate +Calming Herbs from Questor & whenever they stop for a meal Thyra can use the ‘Meal Blessing.’ The whole ‘Rasha’ thing didn’t work, but everyone gets 2 innates of their choosing – Merlin and Thyra are understandably bitter that they lost out on Guild benefits.
The four of you monstered for Team Tedious earlier in the thread - so you retaliate by keeping all the monster swords so they can only use maces to fight Thor. All of the party forgot to buy Res to ToD except Thyra – which she uses to blackmail Questor into giving them Calming Herbs whenever the ref sets a recurring ‘Death’ (played by Flanagan in a Scream outfit)– so ‘she’ (Thyra is clearly played by a male player) takes it and the creature dissipates. Eventually a JC turns up to monster, they play 2 Deaths and the party wipes.
