I would like to share the news that Majad, refugee from Ishma and resident of Deci has fallen.

Majad, along with others selflessly journeyed to a place called Sothek to try and save it from the forces of destruction.

Majad came better prepared than most, with a collection of scrolls a normal mercenary could only hope to achieve over years of scrimping and saving. Majad came with these scrolls and offered them selflessly. Before any mercenaries delved into their own power Majad was there, ready with a scroll.

It was asked how Majad came across these scrolls and he told our number that he snuck into the bedroom of a trusted Elbereth priest he knew, went under his bed to where his lockbox was held and then stole each and every scroll he could get his hands on.

It is then that I noticed the scars on his wrists. In Ishma, if you steal you lose a hand.

Majad had to be shaken down constantly and watched constantly as he would always seem to have found whatever artefact we were looking for somewhere in his bottomless bag.

"Oh that one, I thought you meant a different orb. Yes of course I have that"

I liked Majad. He made me laugh. He was a thief but he stole my heart.

Come back soon, just try to keep your hands in your own pockets.

Ritz

His bountiful scrolls were indeed a blessing from the heavens. I can only guess at the cost...

Ma'jad was bastard. He died and I had to restore him to life. Although, admittedly, that did bring me closer to Border, and introduced me to Border's Bloody Brilliant Booze; praise be to its nutty goodness! So there is that.

Ma'jad was a good lad all in all. Always there to do his bit to save Sothek, her realm, and her people. Next week in the tavern I will ask Border to hold her guiding light particularly high (basically out of reach so the sod can't nick it) when guiding him back to us.

Rest well Ma'jad (bastard!)

Poor Majad,

A great loss I am sure, he had the biggest pile of scrolls I have ever seen and his generosity at using them at every given opportunity was superb to see.

He was a great person to be around but you had to keep your eye on anything of value!

He will be missed.

The Casyak...The Scrolls...The Moral Compass...and more new right hands than a man who learned to juggle with Silverfolk crafted silver swords.

What can you say about a man that had to flee Ishma's infamous city of thieves...and took refuse in Deci.

He was a murderer, a sticky fingered thief but generous with things that weren't his and stalwart despite his nature in seeking to see Sothek saved from destruction, that he fell and was bound and ultimately lost at the Breakers altar of Destruction could be considered the dice of fate finally coming up with his number.

Despite everything I am sure Sothek wouldn't have been saved without his aid.

So thanks for being friends with Reezes and giving a [----] about Sothek and us.

Here's to hoping you are reborn with the World as the second hand flying carpet purveyor you aspired too.

Lannary.

The Khazak Majad confessed to me that he had previously resided in Khaniabhad. But he had left that life behind him and begun a new one in the Empire. Perhaps he wanted to live somewhere where the people are more trustworthy than in Khaniabhad, hence Deci... ?

Though he showed his contempt for the laws of the Confederacy by regrowing his severed hand, perhaps those related to him by blood may be more respectful of our traditions. At least he left our shores, and by the way, how patient of the people of Deci to have put up with him!

Anyway, I took his casyak before we left Sothek. I shall be on my way shortly to seek his blood relations in the Confederacy to return it to them with the news of his fate. I do not know for certain where to start looking, but I have his casyak, so perhaps with the help of a silver wizard I may have some luck in finding them. And I will tell myself repeatedly that I am not doing this for the pleasure of seeing their faces as they learn of his demise, but rather so that they may know that their shame is at an end, and, indeed, it seems he died well. It is to be hoped that if he should return upon the wheel - if that is still possible for him after his ritual destruction - he will not dishonour his kin by wretched lawlessness in the furture.

If I were trying to find something good to say about him, I could say that being the victim of ritual annihilation and destruction on a mercenary mission meant that he really took one for the team. As far as I know he was genuinely trying to save Sothek. I did not know that he was doing so with stolen property.

Actually, come to think of it, I can only hope the casyak now in my possession was not stolen too. If you believe yourself to be the owner of a fine white casyak with a black band bearing silvery studs, please make yourself known to me and I will reflect on how best to proceed.

Razil

I am moved at your care for the line of Majad. It is most noble of you to return his trappings to his blood.

I will remember him fondly.

Peace and water.

To be fair, I don't get out much, so it is nice to have something to do.

And what I try to tell myself repeatedly, may not be very self-aware.

I would not want you to harbour false hope of my unlikely redemption!

I think this Majad is a fellow I have been searching for. A tall man with unusual ratty eyes?

After taking him into my home, and showing him the sights of the village tavern, he was gone the next morning - with nearly 3 decades of holy healing scriptures of my lady.

I am not surprised someone he crossed finally caught up with him, and would be very grateful if anyone could give me any leads on where the rest of my scrolls are.

Reast,

I am sorry for your loss, I doubt there are any left as he was using them with great abandon and delight.
