People who can cast dismiss vampire who are (amongst others) immune to freeze, level drain, spiritual mastery, strength drain and have ‘mantic weapons are needed.

I think you've got two very different things. The first is setting a dungeon appropriate to the level, scope and intensity of the aims being sought. If they're trying to do something they might fail, then you should write a dungeon that they can fail. If they're good they get the outcome they're after, but if they fall short of the mark they don't.

I've never needed anything more than that. I'm very happy to award people who do everything they can, risk life and limb and roleplay their hearts out full points, ISPs and even adjusted WPs and CPs. But at the end of the day the bad guy is still out there and they've knocked over the wrong house of cards.

Really? Thor said at the time that it was Galdor and the faith of the people of Alguz who tore a hole in the Realm of Glass, not you Harpell? It was a decade ago this 'Dawn though so perhaps you've forgotten.

The Empire's still a flaming mess trying to impose its will in places it isn't welcome, but at least there's only one undead on the Senate now!

Aether and all,

I am relatively new to the fight against the Goalthis, having only travelled with you once, but given the shocking security the Empire can cobble together I am happy to offer secure chambers at my Barony in Tartovia.

I can almost guarantee no passers-by, a local populace experienced in dealing with vampires, and I also have access to the most excellent tailors and hat makers.

Warm regards,

Nat’

I thought we changed the rules about religion coming first as it meant people could hide amongst our ranks and get away with anything claiming it was their religion.

Castiel should be judged by what he actually does, not what he claims he might do or who he might appear to be. Kei Ry would have been cast out years ago if he actually lived up to his reputation. We elected the Lord Knight and if he trusts Castiel, that’s fine with me.

But it’s also fine for Rufus to raise concerns, and I’d expect Knights to be honest with each other just as he’s been, and also to abide by the decision that’s made just as he’s promised to do. We’re all pretty grown up and can take reasonable criticism and comment about ourselves.

Concern raised, Lord Knight aware, other people lodging character statements, seems like it’s time to stand back and let the decision be made.

Marik

(P..S. In my opinion he’s an angel and by definition bad for Primus, but for the moment can be tolerated so long as he gets rid of the things out there which are worse. I’ve said the same about a lot of Knights and expect my opinion to receive the same due consideration it always has!)

Is there any interest in cobbling together an adventure on Saturday at lower level, say somewhere between max 8th and max 5,250? We’d need ref, crew and players.

It’s more likely Shadow slipped his mind when he was compiling the report. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Considering playing Isaac, Ru or Ami if there are already a couple of warriors kicking around. I don’t have an almanac - can someone summarise what it says please? It would be nice to pick the right thing to play!

Thanks

I’ve been looking at this for a possible date for the last of the max 6k Knights series. I could up the threshold to 10k, writing for the party, but don’t want to ref any higher. That might give scope to expand Lee’s threshold but as he says, it would need a lot more crew.

If you don’t know the difference between right and wrong without reading Imperial Law then there’s something wrong with you. We, and in fact all right-minded people, abide by the law when it is convenient to do so and when it fits our moral code. When it doesn’t, we break them.

This is as it should be. Imperial Law was written by a bunch of people who happen to have been born to the right mother.

There isn’t any conflict. Your own moral code is sacrosanct. Everything else you put up with if you can tolerate it because the hassle you’ll get if you break their dictats isn’t worth the convenience of doing what you first wanted.

Even if you’re outlawed, all it really means is the Empire doesn’t care if you get murdered. Let’s be honest about it - they din’t Really care that much in the first place. Mercenaries are a convenient vitae sink to them which helps keep their power structures in place, all in the name of ‘stability’.

I’m surprised by Willock and others above.

Knights should do what is right regardless of the law. Laws exist to protect those who enforce them and maintain the status quo. When Baron Sidium started executing people for stealing bread, Knights of the Land defended the people against Imperial Law. I would expect a Knight to step in to defend a group of innocent hedge being slaughtered by a vochstelen, or an Emir who wanted to slaughter Athfanal children before they grew up.

Knights do what is right regardless of the consequences. We can make the choices others cannot.

No, it’s 10 pts plus 5 per spirit point. So animate zombie (2 spirits) is 10 + (2 x 5) = 20 points.

It’s table 1, 10 pts plus 5 per spirit point. So 30 for heal (4 spirits), 60 for restore life (10 spirits)

I’m probably playing a bit of a healing warrior priest or maybe a fire angel vivomancer. About 36 goodly spirits if it helps.

According to the myths Oll wasn't a Troll. He and Uk were members of the precursor race before they split, the Ggrutuck being corrupted by the Eth'Adarecht into the forms they are today while the Troll's are what became of the followers of Oll who fled to Primus. As you say Oll then broke the bridge to stop the Eth'Adarecht using it as a route back into this plane.

I don't know whether there's any evidence of that Bridge - certainly I've never found it. I spent many an hour with Troll sort of slowly discussing his race's history, the Stranger and so on - very interesting person.

Of course, it's probably all a myth as the timelines don't match up. I think it must be incredibly unlikely that the Trolls are less than 1,000 years old and weren't here when the Wyld ruled, and while Oll's followers may have come here from their home plane, I feel it's far more likely they interbred with their existing cousins or just simply died out.

Much more likely is that there was a Trollish race here before our land became Primus, which would therefore by definition predate the Eth'Adarecht and the Laiu.

Lovely to talk, hope you're all well.

J
Troll-friend

P.S. Is everyone as delighted as me at the thought of a troll having paperwork to prove he's the oldest. How great is that!?

Hi,

There are two dungeons on Saturday, 6k and 10k, both with 4 players and crew.

I’m reluctant to run the 3rd Footnotes with only 4 players, and if the Lo Thi joined ours they would probably end up supporting the monsters. Can we work any magic for this day?

Absolutely. Any character who can put up with some Knights should be fine. It’s a 6k with a couple of solid warriors, probably a wizard and who knows from Sam R!?
