Looking at the number of members on this forum I thought wow... There are exactly 1000 as of writing this...
I then go to look at the members lists and find that 735 (I counted) of them have never posted and most of them have never even been on the forums... Surely these are taking up space on the server and it would be better to remove them? Alistair |

Alistair They might be for other functions, they might be people who read but dont post, they might be for Primal Forge customers. They are probably 6 fields on a single look up table and deleteing them would save about 40k of memory... Jan -------------------- Jan McManus

Can someone describe the problem/solution again??? There isn't one. Alistair thought it might be best to remove accounts that weren't active to save space. As Jan rightly points out, the amount of disk space needed to store account information is tiny & a lot may just be reading but not posting, so it's best to leave them as they are. You need to be registered to pay online for a start. And to book onto adventures.
So.... lots of good reasons to be registered without needing to post. Tim. |
