The settlement of Lerath had been developing well over the past weeks. Supported by the now freed tribes of the area, the Jakobite lizards had done well for themselves, developing a life of their own in these new lands. A small shrine to Jakob was evident, through crudely made for the time being, and a semblance of dwellings and even a market was coming to life. The Leslirathian's had turned their considerable skills in survival to good use and had managed to support themselves on the natural resources of the area.
It wasn't long before other refugees from the plane began to make their way to the village from across the Empire, other time lost stragglers who had fled through the portals. They brought them further tales of the woes of their homeland, and how the years had seen the rising dominance of the Grist in place of the Searinites. It was from this that they learned the expression "out of the frying pan, into the fire". During the last week however further tragedy struck. One of their number was found dead in their hut, throat slit. This caused outrage, and the village elders (the first lizards who had come from Leslirath and could remember a time before Searin) began to develop a rudimentary legal system, as well as forming a militia of sorts. If nothing else, these creatures were extremely adaptable. -------------------- Will Power - will@labyrinthe.co.uk

The strange funeral rites of the Jakobites were becoming an increasingly regular occurrence. They would draw circles around the eyes of the deceased in their own blood, and bury them in circular graves.
What was worse though was the alarming regularity of these funerals in recent weeks. At least 6, small and large Lizard alike. All had been murdered. The residents of their ever developing settlement were taking more and more to hiding indoors after dark. They were learning that there were more things to fear than the Undead. -------------------- Will Power - will@labyrinthe.co.uk

Screams (well, high pitched hissing) spread throughout the village as a state of emergency settles in. An axe wielding troll has arrived, seeking out a murderer.
Unfortunately, his methods of investigation are not quite as... diplomatic as one might like. A few cleved skulls later though saw him leaving. And, thankfully, a few days later the village was able to chalk up several consecutive days with no new murders. -------------------- Will Power - will@labyrinthe.co.uk
