Has anyone gone down this route? What did you go for?
I was looking at it with the idea of specialising in wardings. -------------------- Stacey

short answer it's not worth it :c
long answer spend past 10k points putting my hand in the air doing basically nothing bar showing off at times with my base race and preteneding like dabbler has been useful when the Lekki Goblin base race is what makes my character like the idea of a warding charcter I would recommend doing it as a combo of wizard priest and druid my dad got past enhanced evaluate on warding past that combo chromatic wizard chromatic priest (seen it pasted a couples of times) (learns all handbook but no advanced) then chromatic druid (also seen past many times)(as in can learn any evocation but can't get reductions) maybe try and get can cast advanced spells/miracles into wardings for the sake of setting them maybe try getting that 15-20 mana spells all the ref's wizards have "set ward" Adam S p.s. if your invested in dabbler I've got a couple of 1 liners that made my character useful/willing to show my folder :3 -------------------- Sleepy Sheepy - Long Live the Sheep

Thanks Adam.
I haven't committed yet. I was thinking of doing a spend post super dabbler that I'm reeeally good at dealing with wardings, but not great in combat. Figured super dabbler would be my base to build from as I'd have access to all Power bases. I might just be better off doing a wizard priest combination. I mean you rarely get ep or neuronic wardings anyway... -------------------- Stacey

I just applied (and had for other characters) that if I use a Throwing the Runes to get a comm answer but make it more like a tarot reading then they can add a powerbase they use to the comm. I'm sure a Dabbler could do something similar - something collaborative.
Maybe your innates add powerbases to other player's stuff (1 effect perhaps so a lightening bolt goes mantic if you add a halt to it) Might be good for tricky stuff David |

So with 20k In dabbler ...
I can pretty much do anything but it has take alot of point to be able to do anything well. Happy to share my apps with you but its a long slog . Warding wise. I can tell you what it is how to deal with it and then normally i can deal with it but its a lot of point and uses innates of learning spells , miracles etc to do it. Sam |

To deal with Wardings - I'd suggest Grey wizard, gone Disenchanter then scholar - pathing for mantic dispels - neutral path and get Warding sphere, probably Comms
Dabbler/Super Dabbler, as Sam points out - too many points and not enough power early doors, Giles. |

Or go Church of Dead Heroes and have a number of different heroes that you embody to do different things?

Maybe build on a vochstelen, stealing power from wards, would be easy to do a path to disempower things both magic and spirit I think.
As you say, not many EP or neuronic ones but I'm sure you could do a Carlo and get into all brackets, particularly if on the basis of warding / disenchanting only |
