Afternoon all...
So carefully considering a Grey Warden startup in the new year, also intending it to be a neble of the blood, all with the ultimate goal of creation of wards, runes and lines of all sorts. One thing I'd like to try and do is swap out the grey warden "balance" restriction... I appreciate that there should be a restriction though and was wondering what other people had done in the past regarding this restriction? Cheers Patch -------------------- Patch

A common appproach is to split spirits equally into two pools, one pool for good and neutral miracles, the other for evil and neutral miracles.

I have exactly what Pete said for my Flasblade Noble Grey Warden. 100 points, understanding the spirits. Pools are split into good/neutral and evil/neutral, must have the same number of spirits at the start of the day in each pool, but can cast freely. I got read goodly/evil scrolls as a 0 point add on.

I have a more cheeky version which is not for a Grey Warden but a Neutral Dead Heroes Armoured Priest which just gives me the ability to cast evil as well as good and neutral.
I choose at the start of the day how many spirits go in my good and evil pools, usually based on what the party make up looks like. Very, very versatile and is basically a Chromatic Priest variant without the alternating between good and evil miracles headache. PS, Yes, I know my PM Box is full. Email me instead... (Which you can do through the forums email) |

That reminds me, Lee passsed for me all handbook miracles, no casting restrictions. No casting of advanced miracles but suffers no casting damage and can use good/evil scolls and items. If paths keeps good/neutral/evil - basically a "chromatic" priest.
This was in a 3 part status, but mght be doable as a single ability just like chromatic wizard. -------------------- Peter Smith

Cheers Patch You might be able to get free use of good/evil if you limit it to having to put it in wards/lines/runes. For what it’s worth, from the split pools thing, I took devout priest to 8th level - level 8 simply gave me one pool that I could cast freely out of. Carlo |
