Bheldar, wiped his brow. The heat was becoming bearable and the exercise of his mind to move the weighty lava had become easier, almost as if it had stopped resisting the movement over the days, weeks and months of his activities.
His mind worked again as the last (he hoped) deposit of the flaming molten material was on its way, it would be several hours before word would come back if this was to be the last load sent through the pipes. As it disappeared over the edge into the channels designed purely for carrying the material, a rousing cheer went up from the dwarves further down its path. Well time to relax he thought and hope it was the last time he would have to be here, the thoughts of all the owed beer from the work crews that did not have to break their backs on hacking out the solidified lava, was what drove him on, but just the thought of the amount of beer almost gave him a hangover there and then. Several hours later the news arrived, the pipes and paths were clear and the lava was running free, well it would do if some one actually bothered now to disable the massive frost ritual that once again tried to kill as he turned his back on it and walked away. Whistling a tune he grabs the first beer offered to him, it would be a glorious night. |
