My suggestion would be to add a list of the (permanently) fallen from the Knights so that they are never forgotten. Those that have sacrificed their vitae in the Land of Legend should not be forgotten

I'm adding a note to this to bring it to people's attention, as I found a copy buried under a pile of papers. Its a bit out of date, in that the positions held by the KODR have changed and we have achieved more, which is always good? Gimly, could you possibly update this when you have a moment?

Anyway, the reason I was looking here I was looking for the name Voral Adan, as I believe it appears on the letter from Scaflow as He Who Will Become Pride or some such. Accoding to this note here, he is their Knight Ritualist. I was thinking it might be useful to match the names to the would-be Sins? I remember I think Reeve's Death saying something about a man with the KODR eating and eating a huge amount, so it might be that the person who would be Greed (who I think was named, if someone can recall) was there?

Tavis

(OOC - can a techy type make the "things achieved" list a sticky, so its easily updatable? smile.gif )

The knight ritualist, or a knight ritualist? My divinations suggested there were multiple (at least all the Cult of Smoke). The hourglass motif seems to be the knight ritualist symbol.

I'm afraid I don't know, and I have no power to scry about such things. I don't know why it was thought he was their Lord Ritualist, as Gimly's note records - I don't think we've ever met him when I've been travelling with the Knights.

I believe that there was a separate Greed and Gluttony, as two sins not one.

That should be correct, at least from what I understand of the sins.

Andric Communications revealed he was their Lord Ritualist, although those communications were gathered from peoples thoughts and beliefs rather then asking the gods directly. Only other mention of him was in a latter from Janvar im 1008 where he was working with the Wax golums, and summomend one of the sins. He at that time just signed as Knight Ritualist, so he may have been promoted recently. Scaflow was there previous Lord Ritulist.

I will update the notes shortly, i will try and add what we know of the sins as well.

I have updated the above, have been able to find very few notes reguarding the ritualists or any work they have done with the sins. I know previously they never took on the role of the sins, was other people who became the angels that were then corrupted to become the sins. If there is anything else that should be added please let me know

Fellow Knights,

I have included below some information that was discovered via Spiritual and Magical means prior to today’s muster (Sunsday 8th Orgus IM 1010), and also information that was gained this day.

Again as we have come to expect on our journeys to Legend, this was hard fought for, and did not come without cost. Lady Lydia Omercron fell for the final time, slain by ancient folk from the Court of Shadows. Her body has been returned to Ainsford, and will hopefully be returned to her family. I have nothing but praise for the way in which Lydia conducted herself as a Knight of the Land, and sadly mourn her passing. JJ also fell, as he bravely fought and defeated a Shadow Knight, but was thankfully returned by Bob.

I will let (and encourage) others document exactly what we encountered, and I believe it would be good to document, should we have future contact with the Court of Shadows (which seems highly likely).

Divinations –

Lord Bone.
Does not currently exist, was last seen enacting pacts with Lords of Water, Air, Fire and Earth to carry him to safety. He never arrived anywhere. He briefly appeared when a time ritual was cast but this was just for a few heartbeats and he flickered between where he left, and a set of chambers within his lands on the Isle.
The only evidence of his capture is that a potent ritual was cast within the Shadowed Court at the time he vanished.

Shadowed Court.
The court is specifically tied to the undead and the use of black magic. They all hold pacts with undead, the Servants of Imrazil, shades, and the servants of the black mana dragon. No divinations revealed any links between them and the actions against Lord Bone. They were sighted near a small fishing hamlet on the coast of the mainland near the Isle of Chaos.

Other matters...
Last Octuar, when Legend was stabalised, and we chose the time line, there were several ripples running through it. These were caused by certain people being caught in the time trap and killed, which meant that time could not revert to how it was. The main change concerns the Virtues, who exist as they did in the days before Imrazil was stabbed. They do not remember things, but events have realigned themselves so it was as if they had been there.
Come the Final Dawn, the Realm Spirit will need a host – the one it currently resides in is little more than a spell. So it must either be strengthened in some way, or a new host found. The choice of host will shape the nature of Legend, but the Realm Spirit will also be shaped by the events that occur over the dawn, and the new Lord Knight (the dawn in Legend, coming a couple of months later than on Primus, and coincidently when the results of next years election will be made public.
There is also another choice that will need to be made at this time – the choice will cause argument and upset no matter what action is taken. The choice will rest with the Lord Knight and as many of his Lords of Orders present. The final say will be the Lord Knights, but if all of the Lords dissent as one, they will be listened to over his. Unity and single focus of purpose in this choice is important, and if all decide the same it will be a stronger choice than if there is dissent.

Note from Robert – I expect this will be deciding the fate of the Chaos Isle.

Scripts recovered from the land of the Shadowed Court.

Three in total, written in (I believe) ancient...all pretty damning evidence...and definitely show us a way forward. They were not dated.

“Lord Shadow

We have been successful in imprisoning Lord Bone. We have managed to freeze his escape in time, so he is held by the elements in the passage between his chambers and where ever he was fleeing to. The ritual will last for a year, breaking when the dawn turns.

Fortunately we have determined that he was transporting to somewhere on the Isle, possibly to another part of his lands or to another Court loyal to him, so when he appears he will not have enough time to escape before the Isle fades to oblivion.

I am confident that we will be able to protect the Gem that maintains the rite until then. We have placed it deep within the cave of shadows, so it is unlikely anyone that does not hold pacts with the undead and the Black Mana Dragon will be able to enter it.

I await your orders

Jinliz”

“Lord Shadow

As you instructed I have begun trying to locate more allies within the lands, so we may be able to find some refuge. Our most likely allies would be the Drowe, but they seem to me in some disarray after the recent upheaval. It also seems that our pacts with these creatures have somehow been sundered, which we will need to look into.

There is disquiet amongst the other Courts, some fear we are making a move to claim control, others that we are simply going to let them die when the year ends. I have done my best to assure them we are acting for the benefit of everyone, unlike Lord Bone, but they are beginning to demand evidence of our progress or their support will go elsewhere. If we could somehow get Lord Ember on side then this would go a long way to ensuring we have enough time to finish our plans.

Jinliz”

“Lord Shadow,

The latest news is grave. The Knight Ritualist has fallen to the Knights of the Land, and they have some of his notes. I fear they will move to free Lord Bone, though why I do not know.

We have also heard that House Flailmourne have suffered a great loss with the death of their Warlord. They were disliked amongst the other houses, and their martial power was all that gave them strength. With this weak position it is likely we could forge an agreement with them to our advantage. With your leave I will send people to investigate this possibility.

Finally we have managed to create the first of the undead you suggested. It only survived 3 to 4 minutes after it was formed, but it indeed functions as you said. We will endeavour to improve this, though it seems we will have to use it as a shock troop, and not the main bulk of the force as we hoped.

Jinliz”

Robert

Is there any more information about this process vis-a-vis the Realm Spirit? If we strengthen the spell will that simply last another year or would it be more permenant? If we find a host how is the decision going to be made as to what it is? Whilst some might consider a morally strong host would further the recovery of the Land of Legend, others might consider one potent in "Ryte & Arte" more able to arm the denizens of Legend against future troubles and yet others might consider a warlord-like host most beneficial.

I am interested in the comment that the new Lord Knight will have a hand in shaping the Realm Spirit. This would seem to be an enormous amount of pressure to put a single person under, and the political ramifications of the interjection of belief could cause trouble. Perhaps if this aspect of the new Lord Knight's role was more deeply understood and talked about through our order we could take it into account when the vote comes up. I know if someone was going to be putting their hand up my [----] thinking I were their puppet, albeit lovingly, then I really would want to know what the hand's intentions were! Thats a metaphorical 'me' of course.

As a place spirit myself I fully accept that those who live within the place (or in this case the realm) are fully within their right to mold and shape their Locus Animus, will any consultation with other residents of the Land of Legend be undertaken? However as a Knight who has fought alongside my brothers and sisters in the Land of Legend I feel we have won the right to make that decision ourselves. Again I would be interested in what thoughts people have on this as well.

On a note about the creatures of undeath that we encountered, I cannot tell of the strength they were as i am not a priest but i can at least comment a little on fighting them.

Creatures Lord Robert referred to as Spectres - Icy undead throwing ice and cold but not from a magical source strangely. purely etheric creatures, simple enough to deal with, just seemingly irritating as they shift much like elementals.

Skeletal Champions - these worked very much like any other skeleton but obviously a lot stronger so spiritless persons and those who can hide from their sights are better suited. Blunt weapons did work but not very quickly. I also tried a mantic weapon which did not effect them at all, it was only when i used an etherial mantic blade did it damage them which still took a very very very long time. Dismissal i believed work effectively but i understand that they are a high ranking undead. Perhaps blasting them with spiritual/mantic power could be a more effective means of destroying them...

Rotten Corpses - These creatures required the pestilence on them curing before they could be destroyed. The tricky part however was that they were all able to inflict disease and even causing an area of pestilence making a number of us sick at once and infecting them all again. we resolved this by using whatever powers we had to hold them all still at the same time and then remove the pestilence before destroying them. These creatures were also able to accelerate the rate in which the disease progressed.

And on an undead unrelated note.

The Ancientfolk had a number of sorcoreal glyphs written on their blades "VB" "S" and another that i think was "BRD". The most effective means was to magnetise their weapons with magic and spirit as 1: it stops them hitting you with them and 2: their weapons rose after the Ancient folk's death and came at us very much like dancing swords.

Ado

Posted by: Mart07 Aug 9 2010, 06:54 PM

Very briefly, Ado is slightly wrong. Amongst others, we encountered...

Spectres - misty undead.

Frozen Dead - those throwing icy spirits

Skeletal Champions

Lesser Liches.

Ghoul Warriors.

5th Rank Caller of the Ghoul Pack

Diseased Creatures - very potent, cannot be harmed while diseased, coulsd ifect each other seemingly at will. Best dealt with by separating them/rendering them unable to move - curing the pestilence, and them dealing with them.

I will try to add more when I have the time.

Apologies,

Robert

There was also Undead that seemed to have a mix of other undead within them and reinforced with bone, they needed to be beaten to death but when they died something stirked out at you.

They had the powers and spirits of Zombies, Skeletons, Ghouls, Mummys, Wraith, Wight and Vampire within them.

They was also a small skill in there weapons to the point Ebon Tendrils would not protect againest.

Also there was a lvl 8 rank undead that had alot of Black Magic within them including there weapons was pure Black Magic and Evil Spirits, very clever undead.

Oh oh it also seems that the demons of the arc of fire have been opening portals to attack people to keep us busy rather then go and deal with them, there was this very big demon that once you killed it Fire covered all of you and tryed burning you to a small pile of ash.

The Demons Of The Arc had there weapons powered up with a rite that channel fire though them, this raise there damage they could harm people with but if you cast a Extinguish Spell at them, this removed the inner flame (at the weapon rather then the demon).

Traps within the Shadow Courts.

Lines of 100 Shadow Stirkes.
Darkness that tryed cutting you in half.
Candles that was lit and sent showers of Fire at everyone and anyone with a spirit was drawn into the trap, the trap needed all the candles to have Extinguish spells cast on them.
