They have been de-outlawed by the Senate. It should be in the errata somewhere. they are not able to join guilds unless the guild in question buys a benefit that state that they can (e.g. Natural Trust) Lucy But Caslevasp can still join regular guilds as per RoG and Winterscorn can still join whichever sort of guild RoG says they can, presumably? On another note, where do I find the Errata these days? -------------------- OOC:- Matt West IC:- A. bin Razil of the Carrion Scavengers Hetyan (Ishmaic Onyx Wizard and Knight of the Land, suitable for a Max 1500); Yosh (monastically trained knife-thrower, suitable for a Max 2k, semi-retired); Hassan bin Kassim of the Perished Sands Hetyan (mage, suitable for a Max 1500); Haram of the Blackened Bones Hetyan (please smile for the crazy evil witch!) (suitable for a Max 750); Flaig (Pilgrim of the Forge, around the 500 mark, played on Borderwatch guild specials); "Murk" ('the Mercenary formerly known as "Sunflower"') (as featured in Primal Times No. 24) ("suitable" for a Max 1K, allegedly); Sahra bin Flambo of the Placid Waters Hetyan (290 points of fire and spear, plus any monster points; "Sahra" means "Desert"); various others A longer version of this post is available on request. |

Rat-Folk Rat-Folk makeup requirements require the character to look ‘rat-like’ in appearance, with generally appropriate colouration and similar. The make-up must be clearly distinct from that of an elf, for example. Makeup that is not recognisable as Rat-folk is not sufficient. Ratfolk are no longer outlawed as a race – however they cannot join guilds unless the guild specifically notes that Ratfolk can join. This is from here. Peter -------------------- Peter Smith

Thanks Pete. I've just been reading the Miscellaneous Meanderings. They seem a lot shorter than they used to be!
But RoG says Caslevasp and Winterscorn can join guilds - it's their clan benefit. Surely that must be intended to survive the change, if its rationale was that Altunhurst and Capultavel etc. can now join guilds? I will post a query about this in the general OOC discussion area as it affects a small group of characters one of which I've played. -------------------- OOC:- Matt West IC:- A. bin Razil of the Carrion Scavengers Hetyan (Ishmaic Onyx Wizard and Knight of the Land, suitable for a Max 1500); Yosh (monastically trained knife-thrower, suitable for a Max 2k, semi-retired); Hassan bin Kassim of the Perished Sands Hetyan (mage, suitable for a Max 1500); Haram of the Blackened Bones Hetyan (please smile for the crazy evil witch!) I will post a query about this in the general OOC discussion area as it affects a small group of characters one of which I've played. Matt, It's really very simple. Ratfolk as a race had two restrictions initially. R1. They are outlawed R2. They cannot join guilds. Some ratfolk have clan benefits of: B1. They are not outlawed by race (i.e. negates R1) B2. They can join guilds (i.e. negates R2) After a certain amount of lobbying by interested parties, the initial restriction of being outlawed (R1) was removed. HOWEVER, as clarified at the time, R2 was a separate restriction from R1 rather than a result of it, hence removing one did not remove the other. A restriction (outlawed by race) has been removed from the initial race description, nothing else has changed in terms of racial benefits or disadvantages, though benefit B1 has been removed by default. That's how I felt it was meant but the wording was not clear. However MCC has now clarified on System Clarification forums.
