It’s been several months since the defeat of the Brocaman, and travellers from Carador have been seen arriving through the ‘Nact around the ruined town of Bermudan’s Folly.

First to arrive were the Netherkin, led by Vordrose Deldar. The Netherkin, sickly and pale looking humans dressed in black clothing adorned with bones or skulls, soon began helping to rebuild the town though their methods of raising the recently dead to act as labourers was frowned upon by some. Some of the surviving townsfolk said it was uncanny how the Netherkin and the undead seemed to chat away to each other whilst working. Once Bermudan’s Folly began to resemble the town it had been, some of the Netherkin left taking with them the undead labourers. There were sights of them near Deci and the Bildteve Fens but most rumours were that the bulk of Netherkin were last seen heading towards the Dark Forest of Thrice.

Not long afterwards came the Merloc. Strange snake-like men with pointy ears and partly scaled skin down the sides of their faces and necks. They whiffed of sea salt and sweat. Dressed in sailor or buccaneer garb, they drank dry the recently opened town’s inn whilst singing rowdy songs of the seas and booty. One Merloc, better dressed then the rest and sporting an eye patch was seen organising the drunken mess of men, before asking directions to Port Miere, the ruins of Keys, and Bildteve. They left shortly afterwards excitedly talking about exploring new seas and seeing what the ships looked like there.

Last to arrive were the Cairns! Fearsome looking warriors with black and read woad or tattoos marking the faces and bodies. Most had wickedly pointed teeth and all were adorned with many vicious looking weapons. A number of them were seen carrying what looked like the bodies of Brocaman warriors strung between wooden poles, but these swiftly moved off to the woods surrounding the town. A strong smell of cooking followed, before sounds of noisy feasting began. A few brave or foolhardy locals, curious about the strange barbarians said the Cairns began wrestling and fist fighting amongst themselves after the feast, but things quickly turned to bloody violence. When one of the Cairns was killed, the others seems to scream approval before they all returned to feasting again. By morning the Cairns, had moved on, leaving behind the ashes of a huge fire, a pile of bones and blood splattered ground. The Cairns seemed drawn towards the north and its wildness.

Were these travellers here to stay or was this a fleeting visit? Only time would tell…
