So having been to the heart tribe we have a few options open to us. We can either visit some of the other tribes (horn, shield and axe), investigate the haunted area that used to be home to the Oryx or investigate the other way which we are currently unaware what is down there. I shall have a scry later about this 'unknown area' although I suspect it will come up blank and am also happy to have a commune about some of the other areas if we want to.
May the fates watch over you
Ayame Rhagast
I think the Haunted area of the Oryx tribe would be our best course of action... then onto the tribes lands.
Prince Rex.
I sort of agree with my Prince but think we should perhaps seek the other tribes first. Only because it may give us more information on what has/is happening and it may prevent more of the dead of those tribes joining up in that massive army of unhonourable dead/undead.
I think are best course of action would be for those skilled in Scrying to ask what our best course of action would be given what we know and what options we currently have.
Unfortunately I am somewhat restricted in Scrying as I can only find out limited things. If we get no clear knowledge from scrying, I'd favour tribes then Oryx but would be happy to go with majority.
Bayden Beastkin
Oh dear, as much as I loathe the idea... I feel like the spooky haunted Oryx tribe place is probably where we should go next!
I mean, if we get the really, really scary place out of the way first, it can only get better right?
...Right?

Ok so I have communed and we generally have 2 options available to us. We could either visit the haunted Oryx lands which may contain some insight as to what happened with them and may help us combat the oni.
Alternatively we could visit the other tribes to gather other parts of the seal and see if they have any other information that could be of use to us.
I would recommend visiting the Oryx lands first as for now as for the moment the parts of the seal being split up is a good barrier against the oni being able to do something unforeseen with them. Also by visiting the Oryx lands we should hopefully gain a bit more information as to what has happened in the area and perhaps about the strengths and weaknesses of the oni we are fighting, other than that they don't like twilight. Let me know what we think and then we can make a proper decision
May the fates be with you
Ayame Rhagast
Ayame Rhagast,
I trust your guidance and pretty much all those that answered previously wanted to go there first. Demons and most likely Undead to come then!
Bayden Beastkin
Demons and undead, top 2 on the list. We are going there.
MM44
I will be coming along on this mercenary mission - and probably the one afterwards.
I'm currently awaiting some communication results from my scribe, I will tell you all about such answers soon.
Kassadin,
Church of the Tryst
Ok everyone.
I've identified, and probably quite obvious, that there will be quite a large number of undead, haunted things and wardings that have been set up.
The gods advise that anything to help with those and the Oni attacks will be extremely useful!
Kassadin
we are going there then. Destroy the undead, destroy the Oni and save the other tribes
MM44
Well at the moment I am not to sure if I can be assed to turn up.
Morden
OOC there is no space for me but if one dos come up I'll jump on board.
Morden,
Hopefully you will be able to travel with us again but if you have any important information regarding our task, please kindly provide it.
Bayden Beastkin
(OOC - Hope you get booked on Iain but if you had anything to add you got info wise on Saturday or any comms you may have done, we need all the help we can get!)
Don't come then if you are not committed to the cause
MM44
I vote undead

Ok so outing 2 complete what are our plans for the next venture. We still have 2 tribes to visit, the shadow ritual in the oryx lands to deal with, and the final offensive against the oni. I would recommend not doing the shadow ritual early in the day as it would make black magic power more easy to call upon, likely strengthening the oni and preventing the use of light magic. I think we should visit the other 2 tribes and obtain their parts of the tablet, then deal once and for all with the main oni threat. This also potentially cuts out the need for dealing with the shadow ritual unless that would in some way help the tribes living there.
The second issue we have is how we prevent the oni from obtaining more pieces of the tablet, the ones the other tribes have should be safe with them but the parts we have have all been corrupted by dishonour, meaning the oni may try and retrieve them. If anyone has any particularly safe place to store them until out next venture that would be best.
We should all also be practicing origami!!
Ayame Rhagast
Rhagast and fellow Tunnellers,
Yesterday we were so close to dealing with the Living Shadow and the Black magic Oni rite. I am guessing we were very low on power/had ran out of power or had other information as to why we couldn't deal with it all. What I would suggest we do if possible is find out - what the Shadowy Black Magic rite does, what are the implications of us leaving rite empowered to us and the tribes, and what are the implications of not destroying the Living Shadow.
Total guess, but I think the rite might be what is spreading the shadows/unnatural darkness throughout the tunnels, allowing the Oni to be stronger when attacking other areas of the tunnels. On our return to the tunnels, we may find the shadows have spread to areas they were once not there. Hopefully the defences of the other tribes, Axe & Horn, are sufficient to protect them. The Living Shadow maybe something we now have to deal with when we make our final offensive against the Oni/Dark evil previously trapped by the Tablet.
If we had dealt with the Living Shadow and the shadowy black magic rite enough time would have passed for us to safely use white magics. Perhaps a missed opportunity but there is nothing we can do now but plan for our next visit and make sure we don't make further mistakes.
As for the dishonourable acts, the parts we have being corrupted and the Oni being able to retrieve them, we need to find out - How many of us traveling next time have not committed a dishonourable attack, what are advantages/disadvantages of having committed a dishonourable act, what are advantages/disadvantages of not having committed a dishonourable act, in what way are the pieces we have corrupted and what can be done to remove that corruption, and what can be done to prevent further pieces being corrupted.
We could also ask if the Axe and Horn tribes will remaining fairly safe/have strong enough defences in our absence, and what needs to be done when we have all parts of the tablet. We also need a translation of the newly gained parts of the tablet.
Knowledge and forward planning are vital for our success next time we travel. Yesterday highlighted what happens when don't have enough information to deal with wardings/creatures of undeath etc. As for Origami..... I'd rather go for dinner with a diseased Swamp Troll, so I will leave that to the less martial of our group.
Bayden
(OOC - So next one is 03/10 and is currently fully booked in both players and crew No idea who is booked on bar Brett, Matt, Dan, Callum and I so ideally we need to get a list going and sort out who hasn't been dishonourable etc. Also lots of information needed I think and we may have made things harder for ourselves next time by failing to deal with Living Shadow/Shadow rite)
I shall have a commune later about what you have suggested and report back to the group. The ritual was indeed what has been powering the shadows however I did not have the power to destroy the living shadow and complete the ritual and seeing as though nobody else seemed to be able to deal with the living shadow then our best option was to leave.
With regards to the corruption of dishonour the way that the pieces can be cleansed is through seppuku and the way to stop other parts from being corrupted is by not committing dishonourable acts while you are in possession of them. I shall commune about the consequences of being dishonourable but I suspect it will allow the oni to more easily manipulate or control those people.
I have learnt a few new origami folds so we should be ok for the first few wardings
Ayame Rhagast
It was a power taxing day and you were correct in leaving, given the Living Shadow could only be killed with white magics. Your skills aided us greatly throughout the day so its no surprise you were low on power. Seppuku is out of the question for those that were dishonourable. Perhaps we should spread the parts of the tablet about next time just in case more dishonourable acts are committed.
Hopefully Bede or whoever has the pieces of the tablet, will be able to provide us with a translation of the tablet shortly.
I am going to scrub up on my Ogham as my slowness to translate could have cost us.
Bayden
(OOC - Just in case Lee is evil again and brings out the Ogham, has anyone got a crib sheet? Cannot find one in my Druid book and online ones look different to letters we had yesterday But that could just be my memory!)
I will make sure I learn the Plasma Bolt spell, though I fear Joshua will not thank me.
I currently have the pieces, Bede entrusted them to me, I will work on a translation, I also know of a safe place where they can not be discovered nor scryed about until we need them again.
Just so people understand how being dishonoured works: the manner in which the Oryx tribe managed to acquire the piece they had. When the seal was broken a small boy ran off with it deep into the tunnels. He hid, but the Oryx managed to corrupt him, causing him to commit acts of dishonour such that when he passed on they were able to seize the piece. The danger lies in that the pieces we have are now sullied - they can not simply be passed to someone honourable. They can now be retrieved. As I understand it, the only way to change this is for the person who possessed them (Bede) to regain his honour, the only way we know of to do this is to commit ritual suicide. I am not advocating this for a moment, as the oni still have to take the pieces from us.
I will provide a translation shortly, though the fragments do not fit neatly together, so it will be somewhat piecemeal.
S.
Merry Meet, and Blessed Be!
Unfortunately i will be unavailable when you next travel, however I am happy to brew some double strength curatives for cost price, or anti venoms should anyone desire them. Do let me know.
Asp
Agreed, I think there were 3-4 of us that did not commit dishonourable acts. Being one of those, I'd rather not carry any (would need a bag and I don't carry one) but I would be more than happy for the others to do so.
We have two tribes left to visit. Does anyone have any preferences as to who we see first? Perhaps we should go to the tribe in most danger? (If we are able to discover that)
Bayden.
Just to be clear - the scrying we did whilst within the tunnels revealed that the ones currently in our possession have been tainted by dishonour - we can not simply give them to someone who is honourable/has not committed dishonourable acts. By all means - should we retrieve the final two - then give them to members of our group who are not tainted, but the ones we have, that were held by Bede are stained by his dishonour. I mean this in no way to disparage him, most of us did what we did to traverse the warding.
The danger is simply that the oni will try to take them from us.
Well if I come along next time the Oni will have a problem taking the broken tablet off me.
I have the spells Bolting of Light already and the Light Range.
Morden
OOC adventure is full like the last one but with a full set of monsters and a ref maybe I can sneak on ??
OOC - I'd ask Lee/CMT as there maybe a waiting list. Hopefully you get on though.
Alan
Maybe we need to hunt the shadow as soon as we get there, it seemed extremely dangerous to me we don't want it ambushing us at an inopportune moment. Perhaps we need to bathe it in light to weaken it? Again I can't really scry about it because I cannot see through the layer of murk around the place.
Bede
Bede,
Your intentions/plans are more clear now you have clarified your previous statement from hunting to scrying. Scrying is as ever a good idea, but unless the Living Shadow is on our way to somewhere we need to go, I wouldn't want to go elsewhere to find it. Again I am happy to go with majority as previously stated.
Perhaps once we are in the tunnels we could scry about its current location, if its aware we were back in the tunnels, what its intentions are (either knowing we are there or not) and any strengths or weakness it may have. It might be we don't need to go anywhere near it, it maybe its on way to one of tribes grounds, it maybe hunting us when we arrive, it maybe happy staying where we found it (though doubtful), or it may now be controlled by the very thing we seek to trap/destroy and acting as his bodyguard.
We know roughly how to destroy it, white/light magics. I imagine we could destroy parts of it but only kill it with white/light magics. If we have misfortunate of being confronted by creature again, as long as everyone supports each other and tackles creature head on, as a group we should be capable of defeating it.
In regards to scrying, you will need some form of seeing through the supernatural darkness that now fills the tunnels. The remaining tribes are currently all ok, they aren't stupid and have defences against demons in place, so going to see either tribe is a good option at the minute though if we do perhaps we need a different approach to tackling their wardings and not removing them like we did Starsday where possible.
The living shadow is no longer bound to the altar (as we removed the tablet part it was guarding) so could be anywhere in the tunnels. Scrying when we arrive may give us more information as long as whoever does it can see within the darkness.
Bayden.
