Dwarf 3 day ref update, Ref update Options

Hi all,

So myself Ian and Craig have just finished our first ref meeting, where we discussed plot, our ideas, things we need, how
We will approach stuff etc. so that’s the first bit done, with an initial plot line in place, some fantastic ideas. Next we will build on the outline of plot and get them ready for the section writing, which I hope to begin in a few weeks. We are also of course looking at info people have sent us, some very cool bits there and some exceptionally amusing ones, all great.

I will let you know how we are doing on stuff, as soon as we have further updates

Just in case I have missed and to be clear with folks booking onto this - if you are choosing to play a character which is particularly and overly 'pro-empire' or 'pro tribal' or a 'noble' etc, you WILL struggle with the theme. This is going to be a severely 'dwarvern' run and any conflicts with this will be dealt with harshly by the main group. There are players booking on whom haven't played on any of the guild specials in the past which is great but it is only fair that we discuss first what you intend to play (if I have spoken to you already then please don't worry)

If you have an issue with undead, demons, angels and berserkers (yes, we really are that much of an eclectic mix) your character WILL also struggle and find themselves faced with suchlike fighting side by side to defend each other... its a dwarf thing... all coming together for a common goal... bloods thicker than water... that kinda thing... you get it...

So if you have booked on and not been in touch with me, please do so and I will give you some more insight into the aims and objectives of the runs so that you may choose your most appropriate character to come along and join us on our adventures...

That’s certainly a warning, not a welcome.

I don’t think that’s what you meant, and I am expecting to have a fantastic event, hopefully with enough intra-party friction for it to be interesting but not so much that people have to go home early. I’ve done plenty of events as an outsider to a party core and never had an issue. But no-one’s ever quite outlined their expectations quite like this before.

Dwarf core to the party and dwarf-themed objectives for the event - no problem. Do as we say or we’ll “deal with you harshly” - not great.

I would add, ive played the character i intend to play on alot of the dwarf runs, with a 'special' relationship with 1 or 2... Dwarves dont hold back and are happy to meet confrontation with the same! As long as you are relatively relaxed they will be to.

Its not aimed at anyone, but I think it's fair to say. We've not had a compete player list (guessing only!) and we've had people mentioning tribals, I&E followers, nobles, Elbrethians and a circle member 😊
There is no issue with any of those, but giving fair warning that we've got our aims for the event, and there is potential for us to go all Thorin on people, is fair enough.

Definitely stops real world upset on the leadups/event if we attack you for taking the arcenstone (this plot is not confirmed). The guild and main core are a fun group that are definitely not trying to deter people - the medium of text is terrible for expressing: "pro dwarf does what it says on the tin, please don't be upset if you don't get as much from the event/are left out of decision making if you prove to not be pro dwarf."

Most of us are Of the North anyhow, so that's a nice easy in, we can all enjoy immunity to cold together.

For my 2 grulls...

A plot has been agreed as I understand it. This plot has been crafted to further the aims of the Earthsunder clan. If you play a character that might learn of these aims and get upset, that may lead to a bad event for you and we’d like everyone to have a great time.

James has said the plot probably isn’t for heavily pro-imperials and so is just trying to ensure this is understood up

Having played with your Druid, Stuart, I think you will have a great event and strongly align with our goals.

Not a threat Stuart and we have discussed your character and its great to have you along /thumbsup

Say though a player decides to roll up with a LOTS priest and complains bitterly about our Earthsunder Steward who embodies undead, then yes, they arent going to have a lovely three days and I would prefer that they played something a little less obstructive. Or the Destroyer priest who plots to kills all the Angels in the party. Its something I am keen to avoid so just nailing colours to the mast as some players are still deciding what to play - its nothing more than a guide to assist them with their character choices until the grand reveal...

Is the party going to go about PKing ? Definately not, but they may be asked to politely leave and play something else instead which some folks will find harsh having invested points, apps and a costume for something so far ahead.
