Think that one has a live prod, which I don't think you can use in the caves, has to be a fixed
Prod? (The bow bit being stiff and not flexible) |

Think that one has a live prod, which I don't think you can use in the caves, has to be a fixed Prod? (The bow bit being stiff and not flexible) I was going to play my archer on Saturday 17th Feb, but although the armoury has two crossbows, there was only one bolt. The crossbows are quite good for using down the caves, so I am going to make some more bolts for them, I bought 200 flat foam ends for arrows/bolts from China for a very small price and I still have lots of off cuts of fibreglass and wood dowel so I will make some of each to see what is best to shoot. Stomps. |

Would double check requirements for X-bows and bolts with Duncan
/System management just to confirm, Which type of prod is ok to use? Which type of material is ok for bolt shaft or both ok? Which type of head is ok, as I think there are two types? Might have be an old post on it? |

Arrowkaster havent been trading for like a decade. Twisted Flax, who were my go to, recently stopped as well. Best bet now days is to get someone going to a fest to nosey through whats around the stalls there. A friend recommended Umbra Armoury. They only do one model, but it might do for what youre after.
Bolt making wise, while labby has some wide range rules, I am a really firm believer in wooden dowel flat headed bolts and arrows. They break more easily, yes, but they are much less painful to be struck with and you never have any risk of fibreglass splinters when an arrow is on its last legs. Pete Long |

Look for LARP crossbow on eBay.
This looks like an Arrowkaster knock off. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CROSS-BOW-Larp-r...dMAAOSw3gJZODqz As I recall Ian Knope had some made many years ago? Might try asking him?? "Having a LARP." Looking at his website I think not though. Few people with old Arrowkaster crossbows will part with them. I can make new "strings" for them though. Tim. |

What ever happened to the good old days of firing corks? X Their accuracy was nearly as bad as me with a long bow... BBB -------------------- Grey's Law: Any sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice...
