Sorry of doing this in a public way, but it has to be done...
Having been told on the way home yesterday, that someone had gone into the Armoury and had stolen Lizzy's tombola items and points apps, while moving her phone aside to do so (weird to not take the phone too) and also heard that it had happened to others that day also, this makes me sick to my stomach. Normally I would have thought "It can't be any of the cavies, they wouldn't do that", but clearly in this case it must have been, seeing as it was Tombola items and points apps that were targeted and mainly that only people crewing (and "select" players) would be going near the armoury let alone going inside. This truly disgusting individual has smashed my faith in the honesty of our club membership and I hope whoever you are, you get caught and the CMT deal with you as harshly as possible. -------------------- Jules

Perhaps those affected could PM the CMT with whatever it was that they had stolen from them, so refs can keep an eye out for the points apps and thus rendering them worthless to said theives.
This is appalling news and I hope the stolen articles are at the very least dropped behind the desk asap. -------------------- - Matt

This really really sucks... I hope that whoever did it has the guts to return them, even if it’s anonymously.

Agreed with the above, this is very sad. I hope that the items are unique and that the person is stupid enough to use them and found out. If up to me, I would stop you from being a member of Labyrinthe, we do not need you! Stomps. |

Whoever took these needs to look at themselves in the mirror and perhaps reconsider what they have done while pushing those pieces of paper back under the shutter of the desk to try to make amends. I mean seriously, do you expect to rock up and suddenly claim ownership of the winnings ? Its clearly either a malicious theft or a very spur of the moment, insanely stupid and pointless one. The one thing I love about Laby is the sense of camaraderie and trust we all have with each other - trust with our fellow players physical safety as well as personal property. This is a despicable act and I only hope this doesn't jade Lizzys and other members experience of the caving community as on the whole, I like to think we are all a great bunch. So sorry to have just heard about this - a very sad ending to what otherwise was a great event. -------------------- James Pink

Whoever has done this, place them in a envelope and put Lizzies or CMT name on it and leave it in a place where someone can find it please.
Not cool whoever did this. Iain |

I’d mention publically perhaps what Lizzie had - there can only have been so many of each app, as soon as they use it I’m sure they’ll be found out!
But yes, inexcusable behaviour! |

Very disappointing, can we (as a club) do something to repair the damage of a selfish individual?
Ideally, whoever did it should just pop an envelope behind the desk but if not can we replace it, either through the management or a whip round. I have few things that I won't use that I would be happy to chip in with. I know this won't fully repair things but I would be happy to start a whip. -------------------- Richard Eden (Possibly human maybe a vampire)

Was very sorry to hear about this from Lizzie.
I know she lost a Urak-ka and a Frost Giant Multirace. Not sure on the items but they should be easy to replace. However with a number of duplicates that where floating around I believe it will be hard to find the culprit. Having experienced thief myself I know how vulnerable it leaves you feeling and how it affects your trust in others. The perpetrator of this should feel ashamed although I doubt we will ever find out who did it. I'm happy to help out those that lost stuff if I can to help restore their faith in the club and feel that if at all possible the items be replaced. -------------------- "A soldier's first battlefield is always his own mind"

I'm of the Zero Tolerance approach, should the disgusting culprit ever be found they should be banned for life.

Ooo, shall we start a witch hunt and skin the person alive too? By now, if the person has read this forum and has half a brain, all evidence will have been destroyed. Sorry Lizzie had this happen to her though

Firstly, sorry this happened Lizzie.
Just say, just think said person did by accident pick them up......this country is not run by Donald Trump.....inncocent until proven guilty here. We could of posted "Someone has picked up Lizzie's points requests in error, please hand them in as she knew what they were and they would be of no use to anyone else, this will also save anyone writing them up again". Accusations can be made to the CMT in private. There is no real evidence here.....it also may of encouraged said person to come forward and be found out. No chance of that now. Sad in my opinion - both that this happened and the way we handled it. Please don't go onto now slag me off. I just live in the grey world not the black and white one. How do you pick up an envelope that is under somebody elses phone by accident? If you thourght it belonged to you, you would check the contents to make sure..... surely?

I agree with some of the comments, let's move on to putting it right and show what a great club we are by looking after each other.
I will pop a box / envelope at the desk for anyone to stick their donations in (assuming Duncan is ok with it) on Saturday. It would be nice to show how supportive the club is of each other which let's face it is 99.9% of the time. Super Saturday was a great event, well managed, well organised and lots of fun. This may have just been an accident or a loss but whatever the reason it would be nice to see people club together. -------------------- Richard Eden (Possibly human maybe a vampire)

Thats the point I was making. You are assuming which could be right, but there could always be a story - that is all I was saying. Lynch mobs are quite simply not right anywhere in my opinion. No excuses - but have been involved in enough real life stuff to know grey does exist even when it seems on the face of it not to. Just think about a different tone. rich -------------------- Sh*t - Son of Git, Squire of the Order of Dragons - 8K
