Resignation, being in response to the appointment of the new Lord Inqisitor Options

To the Senate and any others who would listen.

It is with heavy heart I do hereby withdraw my labour from the Inquisition and renounce the position of Inquisitional Keeper of Lore, as is my right as a citizen.

Despite my entire essence being bound to the service of the Empire I do this in protest of the outrageous lunacy of this appointment and being entirely unable in all conciousness to serve this entirely inappropriate choice.

To appoint an angel, a shard of one of the gods and driven by there will to a position of being overseer of the Supernatural threat to the Empire seems to me illogical.

From personal experience of bleeding in the field next to him, to choose one who chooses to interpret his own religion as an excuse for the murder of those of dark heart or even those who speak words against him is to me an act of sheer insanity in these times where religion seems an ember beneath the Empire.

I may be a coward in many things, but I cannot allow myself to be part of that path and the damage that will come forth from it.
A spark of me hopes that in time I will be proved wrong, temperance and good judgement might be borne forth and in time I can return to my home for these years and return to quietly serve once more.

I have not hoped to be wrong quite so much as now.

For now I will continue to serve the Empress directly as she would will on matters outstanding and Kenobi as Stadtus of Halgar.

Although I understand your reasoning, I am not sure that I agree with your conclusion. If you are that worried an Angel will not be objective or unbiased enough for the position, I would suggest that you would be better serving the Empress by remaining in your post and offering the new Lord Inquistor the full weight of your wisdomm and knowledge. Whilst it is a far more emotive gesture to resign, you have for many years held yourself up as a being of thought rather than emotion. I would ask you to reconsider before making a final decision. As much as anything old friend, I don't want you cluttering up my Watch houses and checking up on my paperwork.

I should probably point out to begin with that I'm not an angel, nor was I ever one. I am the strength of the Sunlight of Primus brought forth to hold her strong and bring back those places, tales and legends that have been forgotten in mittlenacht. I am more strongly wrought of her power than of any other and I am certainly no shard of a god or goddess.

Trundle, stay, help me and help this Empire. Help me and let me show you that all your worries are nothing but that.

Please do not confuse me with Aurora who has walked apart from my form under his own whim, will and choosing for over two years now. I do not walk the path he walks, or indeed the path he wished me to walk or forced me down some years gone by. I will stand for this Empire with my heart and my soul and do what is right by it and for it, whatever that need be.

If you doubt me, go to Miere, go and see the work I have done there, walk in the calm and strength of the sunlight that shines there, talk to the people, visit the Sunlit Isles and the people therein recovered from afar. Talk to the people of the Empire in any village or any town in the rural places.

The Sunlight of this Empire and of Primus shines in my heart and I will do right by it to see her strong and whole.

Nex' is nothing like Aurora, we don't argue. I've had some heated arguments with Aurora, because that Angel is blind, and a divine being unable to change. Nex' isn't, he'll do his job properly and isn't biased in the same why by his faith

I can confirm what has been said about Nexus and Aurora. I know them both, and have journeyed long with each. They represent very different aspects of faith.

Of course, you must do what you think is right, but make sure you are making a decision based firmly on all the facts.

To those who have commented, I thank you for your gifts of wisdom rather then derisory jibes seen elsewhere.

Even to Nex' whose words speak more closely to the longest of past nights then recent ones, if actions meet words perhaps we'll share once again a fine pie and something from my own cellar (as awful as it may be...)

I've promised someone I trust and respect I won't make trouble, so for now the decision stands and I'll say no more.
If time changes that, I'll make apology clear or the truth as loud as circumstance might dictate.

But once again thank you for your reason, balance and diplomacy is the temper the Empire needs right now.
