Start off with the serious bit: As things currently stand with the Covid-19 pandemic it remains business as usual for Labyrinthe, the tour side of the caves and the café. The ongoing advice from the government is being monitored and we will let you know of any changes. Please follow their advice to wash your hands regularly while at the caves. If you are needing to book off to self-isolate and it is past the cut-off point to normally do so please email the booking line. Duncan has kindly agreed that no-show fees will not be applied over the coming weeks when people need to book off or no show due to self-isolation.

Coming up this week we have:

Thursday
A Fisher Fatalities Max 15k DoRaC Thursday triple length, David has a full crew and currently 7 players booked, so space for more to join the fun.

Saturday
Soul Forger & Of the North straight 8th Guild Special – A chance to start of those new dwarf characters or those from the frozen north alongside fellow guild members. Rich E is reffing, as an a-ref and 1 monster with currently only 5 players booked.
Top Secret Max 3k Guild Special – Jack is reffing another day out for the random mix of scout classes that make up this guild. Currently 7 players booked as well as an a-ref and a monster, could probably do with another monster.
Amlas Themed Open Max 1500 – An open dungeon at this popular level but with an Amlasian theme/setting and a few Amlasian characters already some of the 7 booked players. James I is reffing but is in need of an a-ref and at least 1 monster

Sunday
Obsidian Cabal Max 1k Guild Special – Pro-active evil guild of do-ers are off out to get stuff done. Currently 8 players booked, with Iain W reffing who has an a-ref and 1 monster, ideally needs another monster
Max 500 – Currently only 2 players booked, needs a ref and some crew to run alongside some more players so get booking if you want to make this happen.

Further Ahead
The first extended length of the year is now less than a month away, a max 750 3-day at a new site, Cudham Shaws Outdoor Centre near Sevenoaks. This is a new site for us and is only a 20-minute drive from the caves. It is being reffed by Edd and Stacey and there are special races available for this event. The event is over the Easter weekend, starting the morning of Friday 10th April and finishing late on the 12th, then pack up, clean and come home on the 13th. The caves will also be closed for a private hirer that weekend so this is currently the only option to get your Laby fix over that weekend. It also welcomes monsters either for the full event or drive bys. It may be possible to play just some of the event but chat to Edd/Stacey and Duncan to discuss.
Tuesday Club is on next week with Nick B reffing, is currently full on players but needs some monsters as none booked!

Rumours and Gossip
Cavie drinks were good fun last Friday, a chance for old and new players alike to catch up over a beer or 2. Thanks to Jasper for organising, keep an eye out for the date of next years drinks that hopefully wont be in the middle of a pandemic!

Speaking of which, there is no truth in the rumour that the recent outbreak is Lee taking his Aminutus Pep disease plot to far… they are just co-incidence!
More seriously, many other LARP systems, especially the large fest ones have had to cancel their events due to the outbreak and these are events where many of the weapon makers and traders make a lot of their sales. As many are small businesses they will be hit hard by this so if you are thinking of buying some new weapons or costumes either online or from the cabinets now would be a good time to do it to help them out and make sure they are able to continue to make things for our hobby. We are hoping they will all still be able make it to the kit fair on the 16th May.
We also have a number of cavies who work for the NHS and other public services that are rushed off their feet at the moment, just want to take this opportunity to thank them all for their continued hard work keeping us safe. If anyone does find themselves having to self-isolate and/or in need of anything during this time they should feel free to reach out to other cavies and hopefully someone can help, I have seen it in action already. One thing us cavies have always been good at is looking after each other.
