Errian's Rest. Nestled in the fields south of Scarlene, this village is the very definition of activity these days. Building work is rife, everyone is chipping in. The rough wooden palisade is well into the process of being mended and a simple memorial just outside the boundary is almost complete.
The horrors of the past months, the feast, the murders, the Orc pillaging, the risen corpses, the betrayal... it all fades. Slowly, but... this world sees so many horrors, it doesn't do to dwell. In time, Karla would return, with her father guiding her. Her guilt also passes, and the village embraces her once more. With guidance, she is able to step back, and allow people to take care of themselves, giving them the chance to be stronger. Never again will she allow others needs consume her own. The Mercenaries who helped bring this about visit from time to time. Or at the worst are talked about. Serin and Bartimaeus are often mentioned, sometimes in hushed tones, other times in general awe. Raymond in particular is revered, and the Racoon would later be taken on as the towns good luck animal. That particular beast becomes a popular and much loved pet. Corond and Dias are often remembered, their contributions to the safety of the village never forgotten. There is a distinct upturn in Earthen Mages from the area, and young children for years afterwards would ask "Can I be an Awakener when I'm older?" only to be disappointed. The future looked... well, not bright, but at least quiet for Errian's Rest. Which is almost certainly what they wanted... ******************************************************** Recruitment was up for the Tryst around Scarlene and the south. Rumours of a new temple, new shrines, new demons... well, it all helped, true or not. But elsewhere... a new force develops enmity against the faith. Actions have consequences... -------------------- Will Power - will@labyrinthe.co.uk
