Hey everyone. So kat has tasked me with putting together little briefing pack for new players joining the church. I plan to be twisting arms for help and input.

First things first there will be a section on notable charcters within the church. The kind of charcters that a low level priest would have herd of.

So if you would like to be included then please write a paragraph or 2 about your charcter. It dosnt have to be an essay but cool things to Include could be, notable things you have achieved while a church member, positions of power etc. Ether private message or even on this thred will do.

Cheers
JJ

Ps. Its prity well known I have the literacy skills of an untrained monkey so if someone wants to volunteer to do the formatting and such that would be great smile.gif

Easy only needs a couple of lines to sum up the Tryst

Don't get caught
Mistress Serin is to be obeyed always and constantly brought presents.

Charis the Witch
(#notanoutlaw)

While only a junior member of the Church, Charis is always happy to welcome newcomers round to his hovel for tea and biscuits (especially chocolate ones if Brian is there...). He is a ratfolk by race and Weird by profession - that being a priest and druid all in one (like a vivomancer but without any of those silly restrictions...)

Most notable action in career to date is slaying of a mercenary, Jack Daniels, on the same mission (because he was a beserker and kept attacking the party - it was self defence, honest.). Having paid his vitae fine, Charis is now off the naughty list and a fine upstanding imperial citizen.

Charis has ambitions to faithfully serve Lady Serin and the church

Hi JJ,

Happy to help format and make it look nice. richardbATalanblunden.co.uk.

My Trob Golbin is a member and considers himself a friend of Lady Serin and Lord Blackheart.

He is well known for being a horrible sweary and rude Trob Goblin but very loyal to the Church.

More recently he is known for giving his Vitae on a guild hire to prevent a major issue with the KOTL.

He is a Squire of the Order of Dragons and very well thought of by the Brown Mana Dragon. One of his favoured sons actually.

He owns a farm and brews his own unique Goblin Twist Ale.

Hive, a hulking vaguely humanoid creature, an appearance that is swiftly belied by the copious and varied bugs that crawl all about its form.

Whilst not a priest, is devoutly loyal to the Tryst and can be found on most of their gatherings. Refers to the high priestess as Queen Serin, and seems to believe her to be “queen of the hive”.

A potent neuronicist, if such a thing is truly possible, Hive seems to have taken the first instruction Serin gave very seriously. “Don’t get caught!”

As such has become very adept at running away, and immediately joined the Imperial Seers, so that it could do the catching rather than being caught. Swiftly, some would say ridiculously so, rose to the position of Mentatus for the Empire. A position in which the emotionless bug creature has shown a distinct lack of diplomacy and understanding of social norms, albeit proving loyal and entirely dedicated to the role.

There are tales of fallings out with the Church of St Michael, a willingness to sacrifice others for the “greater good” of the Empire hive, and othersuch dark deeds but the truth varies depending on who tells the tales...

From a monster point of view.....

Do what Serin says but go for max comedy value.

Do not embody an Abishi when pretending to be an Angel.

Walking over lines that have area effects is "bad".

Get as many people working for you/the Tryst or owing you favours as possible.

Mouthing off against Lady Serin will just get you killed.

Lady Serin likes presents. Especially hat or bat related ones.

Being resistant to Wrath of the Lord is also helpful from what I have seen

I will give you some free advice, though.”
“Will it cost me anything?”
“What? I just said it was free!” said Miss Tick.
“Yes, but my father said that free advice often turns out to be expensive,” said Tiffany.
Miss Tick sniffed. “You could say this advice is priceless,” she said, “Are you listening?”
“Yes,” said Tiffany.
“Good. Now...if you trust in yourself...”
“Yes?”
“...and believe in your dreams...”
“Yes?”
“...and follow your star...” Miss Tick went on.
“Yes?”
“...you’ll still be beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren’t so lazy. Goodbye.”

Lord Berkeley Arneherne, younger brother to Lady Serin Arneherne, is a Templar of the faith who commands a faction of the Arneherne House army.

Berkeley is a devout follower of the Tryst who also maintains a huge network of private gaols across the Empire. Although this can keep him from attending church gatherings, when church members need to perform rites boosted by the power of blood and human sacrifice, they find this legitimate access to convicted criminals a helpful connection.

A more... reserved character than his better known sister, Berkeley has a callous nature that is only matched by a similar thirst for power.

Don't know if Rangar is a "notable" member but here goes..

Some might say Rangar is a coward, some might say he is a flip-flopper and most think he is incompetent but Rangar just thinks those people are idiots. Rangar is despised by much of the mercenary community but he also has lots of friends its just you will never actually know who they are. Rangar is very chaotic by nature, he has been a blacksmith and a paladin of light but now he has embraced the darkness and his heart has grown darker than most. He holds no less than three titles of nobility in the Empire including Lord of House Tenebras Dolo, Squire of Mossgulf and Squire of Pearlgarde.

His most rumoured infamous action of late was the wholesale slaughter of numerous priests of St Michael and the desecration and the destruction of numerous Michalean churches across all the different lands from Almas to the Far North in what appeared to a co-ordinated demonic assault but as with most things to do with Rangar it might just be a rumour after all most mercenaries don't really see him as being competent enough to pull off anything like that.

It is also rumoured that Rangar leads a tribe of Goblins and that they managed to break into a secret vault and steal away a Michelean artefact but that is unlikely to be true and certainly no one is willing to confirm this. Another popular rumour is that Rangar's demons tend to be tall, black with over-sized mouths and long extended fingers and claws when in their true form. The truth about Rangar is almost impossible to truly understand and you can never really be sure what his plans are.

What is known though by some is that Rangar values favours above most things and is unlikely to do anything without getting something in return. As for his stance on the Tryst, he serves Lord Blackheart and Lady Serin more than the Tryst per se but that is probably more to do with the fact that Rangar refuses to be part of any other guild other than the Tryst he appears to have a distrust of guilds in general. One thing that is known is that Rangar does not break contracts in fact it's probably the only reliable thing he does.
