The Dragons Breath

“Clansmen of the Frozen River do not stir,
We come to pay tribute not awake long dead ire,
Your living blood sings the tales of your legend,
Rest, sleep and hear our song float across the Silver River where you hunt eternally.”

Publically announcing an open campaign to run through the end of this year and into early 2010.

Opening at 1000pts past and envisioned to culminate over a series of four dungeons with an upper threshold of 1500pts.

The dates are booked as follows:

Saturday 07/11/09 – Max 1000
Saturday 09/01/10 – Max 1250
Saturday 13/02/10 – Max 1500
Saturday 06/03/10 - Max 1500

While I personally like to weave stories without prior publicity and leave it to characters to decide if they wish to witness, influence or even act as a catalyst for what occurs in future chapters and acts I have been asked by a number of people for information having seen the early bookings appear.

The dungeons will begin within the Empires borders but this should not preclude those from outside its borders or even disenfranchised by it and individual threads and links can certainly be provided if character selection and backgrounds are made by mid October.

It will be both suited to those able and willing to think as well as act and those who like to pay attention and give consideration to more than what is directly in front of them may well find the dungeons more rewarding that those that think in more linear degrees.

No powerbase will be excluded or suffer deference to another and a mix of powers available to those partaking may well provide benefits to the group and strengthen an individual’s focus and experiences.

Players should have a strong handle on their own characters personality, motivations, desires and loyalties (even if these are none) as should I believe any character reaching this threshold. However they need not be fully formed and complete. Nor should anyone expect an easy time for without doubt the events will be challenging and crawling away on hands and knees bereft of power, supplies within a herbal cure of death should be seen as successful and hopefully exciting event.

I hope players will experience a rich and deep history, visit places of power and mystery and come into contact with “real” people, factions and forces and have the chance to shape events and leave their own mark on history.

Just because November may be the first dungeon doesn’t mean it hasn’t already begun...

Well, I'd have enough points and be on the right table to do so after the first dungeon, and, since it's a fairly major part of the character, I'd be inclined to take the multirace as soon as I can...

Probably going to play a 500ish point Kensai or a 800ish point Imperial Warrior - dependant on me finding my cards and points apps which have weirdly vanished...

200 point past Weather High Druid still a strong option though...

I am booked onto the first 2 at present and likely to try and get on for the last 2 as well. No idea what I am playing yet though as I am currently dead, its not the drawback it used to be you know tongue.gif

/semi bump

All those players that wish to send either character details, background or anything they feel that I should know or they would like me to know should do so as soon as humanily possible.

The 1st dungeon is next week. We have a full party of 12 players, of which 8 have told me what they are playing, 2 I think I've guessed and 2 I have no idea on. To avoid "Mystic Syndrome"* I'd ask all those that haven't told me directly to do so.

Currently we have an A-ref in Mr Ryder who has kindly stepped into the breach however we have an grand total of zero monsters. I suggest people try to talk nicely to friends, call in favours, twist arms, offer bribes or whatever they can manage to encourage people to book on to crew. Simply put it'll be rubbish without any.

*The occurance of playing a Mystic on a dungeon where everything is mindless and all you can do is stare angrily at Golems, elemetnals and undead.

Posted by: Chris Nov 2 2009, 11:19 AM

I like that Gordon has timed the dungeon to coincide with the release of http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_0_8?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=dragon+age&x=0&y=0&sprefix=dragon+a in a moment of advertising genius. Good work Gordon.

Or Jarad - 1000 points warrior/ scout type

Chris

I think Paul-L is playing his warlock.

Chris C

Might play my black wizard, maybe my brute monk. Gah. Stupid multiple characters.

Due to current numbers and work related pressures the final date has been moved to Sunday 14th March.

I hope this will still allow those that were playing on the 6th to still take part and those that could not make the date and were keen for such a move able to take advantage of the change and partake in what should be the Final Act.

Sorry for any inconvenience it causes espcially to Dan and Ryan who had booked to crew in advance.

Rightio peeps,

The final act of the Dragons Breath campaign is running this coming Sunday (14th March), currently this has 2 players. Those who have played the campaign and would like to finish the Dragons Breath have a whole day to book on, I will be taking a view on this event tomorrow evening as to whether it will be cancelled or not. I am sure that if you have played the campaign you would like the chance to finish it..............

Come on peeps its the last one!!!!

Admin Bird.

Come on gang - any of you out there?

Whilst my stirling talents might work wonders I can't imagine that I am the only one hoping to claim all the ISP from the Dragon's Breath campaign...

Anyone?

I am happy to look at dates to try and ressurect a day when more of those that have played or have an interest in taking part can make it around available space at the the caves.

I'm off making pants sick on his stag do this weekend, if the date changes I'll probably be about.

Proposed Dates for the Conclusion of the Dragon’s Breath

I’ve had a look over the even diary for when there are spaces at the caves and I would be able to run the final event.

I’m keen to see the final part run but the proposed impact of the event will obviously be lessened the longer it is left. Luckily any temporal anomolies can be explained away by the nature of the Nacht.

So I offer up the following dates for digestion and discussion.

Sunday 28th March
Sunday 4th April - Easter Sunday
Sunday 18th April – There is a max 1500 this day, potential to hijack it should the current referee not have an issue or open a new one if they do.
Saturday 24th April
Sunday 25th April

Let me know which of these are preferable and I will try and book something most suitable for the masses.

Posted by: Chris Mar 11 2010, 09:54 AM

For what it's worth I am keen, although I will need a recap before the next event as my memory is too addled by the coffee I drink!

Sunday 28th March I would prefer to avoid
Sunday 4th April - Easter Sunday I am free but it's Easter Sunday and I suspect this makes it a bad day for 'normal' people
Sunday 18th April – There is a max 1500 this day, potential to hijack it should the current referee not have an issue or open a new one if they do. I am free
Saturday 24th April I am free
Sunday 25th April I am free

I can do Sunday the 28th of March and Sunday the 18th of April. Easter Sunday I can't do, does that make me a normal person? tongue.gif

24th and 25th I am not available.

Posted by: giles Mar 11 2010, 02:04 PM

Can do 18th or 25th April

Giles

Posted by: Gordon Mar 11 2010, 09:39 PM

Sunday 18th of April looking the favourite.

I will give it a day or two more for other players to raise their heads above the parapet as it were before confirming a date and getting Jo to open it up.

Posted by: Padallen Mar 12 2010, 12:42 AM

I am free on the 18th but am happy with all the others as well except the 25th!!
